Harry Tanaka

After graduating from New York University School of Law, Harry Tanaka went on to take New York Bar. After practicing in Washington DC and Brussels, he went back to Tokyo to join Disney to launch Disney Channel in Japan as the top legal counsel. Shortly after, he was promoted and converted to managerial business roles that include General Manager of Studio Motion Pictures and General Manager of Media businesses that included streaming, apps, television and home video. While as presiding manager who signed off on casting for promotion events and Japanese voice talents for Disney movies and television series, his continuous passion in production lead to devise scheme for the first of a kind Disney branded live action TV movie co-produced with Fuji Television, "Wish on Stars," lead by Johnny's star Tsuyoshi Domoto and Yuuka. Tanaka was integral as business affairs to structure and produce "Stitch!" which became the basis for subsequent Disney Japan local production anime series such as "Avengers: Disc Wars". As the head of distribution for ABC Studio series, he oversaw and negotiated casting renowned Japanese talents; Hiroyuki Sanada to "Lost" season 6, and Japan Academy Award winner Yuko Takeuchi to "Flashforward." He also receives credits for "When Marnie Was There" and "Mary and Witch's Flower" as executive in charge in production consortium with Studio Ghibli and Studio Ponoc, respectively. While he served on the boards of a number of Japanese movie and television industry organizations including the Japan Video Software Association and the Digital Entertainment Group, he was one of several Japan based Jurors selected for International Emmy's, where he reviewed and cast votes for international scripted and non-scripted series in its semi-finals for three years.
