Interview: Tony Germinario talks ‘Bad Frank’

Towards the tail end of 2016 I was trawling my Twitter feed for something new and interesting, when I stumbled across what looked like a really intriguing low-budget indie movie that was a cut above a lot of what you find out there. I contacted the director, Anthony, and we kinda hit it off. He sent me a copy of the film, Bad Frank, and asked if I would like to do a review, which I did (Bad Frank review).

I kept in touch with Tony as he hit the festival trail and was always happy to hear how well it was doing. So as you can imagine when I found it was getting a much bigger release in order to have a much bigger audience… Well, I am really happy for Tony and his crew; and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to interview him as Bad Frank prepares to hit VOD next month.

Movie Review – Bad Frank (2017)

Bad Frank, 2017.

Directed by Tony Germinario.

Starring Kevin Interdonato, Amanda Clayton, Tom Sizemore, Brian O’Halloran, Russ Russo, Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, Brandon Heitkamp, and Lynn Mancinelli.

Construction worker Frank Pierce, formerly a baseball player and a Marine, goes on a brutal path of righteous vengeance after a scummy crime boss kidnaps his wife.

Bad Frank, the debut feature of co-writer/director Tony Germinario, is the kind of testosterone-fueled kidnapping drama that you’d expect to stumble onto on late night television. While the story is relatively generic, it is elevated by a fine performance by Kevin Interdonato as the titular Frank, some great cinematography, and by a gross, bonkers conclusion.

The film introduces Frank and his wife Gina (Amanda Clayton, appealing but underused) as a happy couple with some obvious darkness in their past. Frank is sober, but has apparently burned a lot of bridges, as his mother

Stars: Kevin Interdonato, Amanda Clayton, Tom Sizemore, Brian O’Halloran, Brandon Heitkamp, Russ Russo, Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, Lynn Mancinelli, Paola Grande | Written and Directed by Tony Germinario

I love it when a movie can come completely out of nowhere and surprise this humble reviewer. Bad Frank is exactly that, a movie that on paper looks and sounds like most other kidnap/revenge thrillers you may have seen over the years. But let me tell you that Bad Frank is Far from some of the copy and paste garbage out there.

I was instantly drawn to this flick after stumbling upon its Twitter page and hey full disclosure I saw Tom Sizemore and Brian O’Halloran and thought ‘Okay, Im in’. Little did I know that I was about to watch a somewhat by the numbers movie that takes all of the numbers and turns them on there head with a great,

Episode Recap: CSI: NY - 7.15: "Vigilante"

  • PopStar
Women work-out at a gym. That was a conspicuous gym, who'd want to work out displaying themselves to any old pervert or weirdo. Not to mention voyeurism! And it was on the ground floor too, that's just inviting trouble. A man outside watches a woman leave and follows her. A 911 call is made reporting a murder about to occur right now, by what sounds like a man, at first. That voice was too mechanical, emotionless and monotone to be an actual voice. Instead of a dead woman, as we'd expect to have been found, it turns out to be a dead man. He was "beaten, bound and gagged, shot three times - it's about to happen..." Flack (Eddie Cahill) reports the call was made at 11pm by an unidentified caller. Mac (Gary Sinise) comments every Vic of the Prospect Park rapist was found within a mile of where the Db was dumped.
