Jonathan already has a dozen feature films under his belt as a producer and is recognised as one of the most dynamic and proactive production talents in the UK.

Briefly a journalist, he was running a TV channel by the time he was 24 and worked in acquisitions and as a producer for the likes of Anchor Bay and MGM, before changing gears and moving into feature film production in 2006 with the acclaimed urban horror movie Wishbaby. Forming Black & Blue Films with Martin Kemp in early 2007 he steered their slate from script to screen producing such diverse fare as stylish thriller Stalker (written and directed by Kemp and starring Jane March), comedy Just For The Record (starring Danny Dyer and Rik Mayall), vampire/gangster action film Dead Cert (starring Dyer, Craig Fairbrass, Dexter Fletcher and Steven Berkoff) and award-winning zombie blockbuster Devil's Playground (starring Dyer, Fairbrass, Sean Pertwee and Jaime Murray). Recently he was Executive Producer on the Danny Dyer thriller 7Lives and the gangster comedy Bulla starring Peter Capaldi and Omid Diljalli and produced the romcom How To Stop Being A Loser starring Richard E Grant. He produced Airborne starring Mark Hamill and Julian Glover and Elfie Hopkins starring Ray and Jaime Winstone, He won 'Best Producer' at the 2010 British Horror Film Awards.

Away from films, Jonathan was Executive Producer on Danny Dyer's Football Foul Ups, the biggest selling sports DVD of 2009, and still writes for magazines such as Esquire.

He worked as Head of Programming for The Horror Channel in the UK for six months in 2004, resigning in July of that year.
He is a close friend of Abigail Titmuss and is thanked in her autobiography "The Secret Diaries of Abigail Titmuss". He is also a close friend of Danny Dyer.
He is an ambassador for the UK copyright awareness organisation The Industry Trust.
Had his own video label as 'Jonathan Sothcott Presents' via 4Digital Media with titles released under the banner including Elvira's Haunted Hills and Two Headed Shark Attack.
The late British producer Euan Lloyd was a mentor to Sothcott in his youth, and Sothcott gave the eulogy at his memorial service, entitled The Last of the Gentleman Producers after the documentary he produced about Lloyd's career.
Away from films is an occasional author with published books including The Cult Films of Christopher Lee, Ten Years of Terror, The Films of Danny Dyer (co-written with James Mullinger) and the forthcoming The Jermyn Street Shirt.
Married to actress Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott.
