Pete grew up in & around Kingston, ON and studied at Queen's University - Physical Education and Theatre - before moving to Toronto to study at the renowned George Brown Theatre School. He earned his Canadian Actors Equity card in 1986 after performing in Mirandolina for Masterclass Theatre/Tarragon Theatre, and in a lead role in Mass Appeal as Mark Dolson, the rebellious young Deacon. He joined ACTRA in 1987 (and UBCP in 1991) but continued to work primarily in theatre, in lead roles in plays and musicals until the mid-90's. Favourite stage roles include Dean Rebel in Trafford Tanzi; Slim in Sam Shepard's Cowboy Mouth; and The Engineer in Miss Saigon, for various theaters across Canada.

Pete moved to Vancouver BC in 1990, after a solo cycling trip from England to Egypt, and started to work in film & TV. Credits include lead, supporting and recurring roles in both comedies and dramas; in Universal's Slapshot 2 (2001) & Benchwarmers 2 (2019), he had Supporting Lead roles as oddball, iconic characters who were comically athletic. He drew on his strong sports background for these roles: Pete won the Rookie of the Year award for athletics in his first year at Queen's. In the popular TV series Life Unexpected, he had a Recurring Guest Star role as the much-hated Trey, the abusive foster dad of Lux (Britt Robertson) , and was the man who killed Laurel Lance's (Katie Cassidy) father on Earth 1 & 2 in Arrow. Pete continues to seek out interesting character roles, like the creepy Gordon in writer/producer Bill Lawrence's pilot for ABC, Dead Inside; the racist Sheriff Washington in A & E's Project Blue Book; and in his recurring role as the potentially murderous Gavin Crone on ABC's Rookie Blue. And he has a Lead role as the misanthropic Donny in 2022's compelling indie feature, The Way to The Heart.

Pete's original song Where You Will Find Me is the hero song in 2020's Love in the Forecast, in which he also plays Cindy Busby s dad; he plays his song Out in the Kitchen in 2019's Over The Moon in Love, in which he also plays the father of BH 90210's Jessica Lowndes. Pete sings harmonies on Jessica's new song for 2021's upcoming High-Flying Romance; he also plays Jessica's dad in this film. And he has 3 original songs featured in 2021's Chasing Waterfalls. His original song I Don't Wanna Do What I Don't Wanna Do was featured in the 2017 indie feature film Idle Thoughts, and Pete also has a supporting role in the film. He often performs at charity events and fundraisers around BC, both solo and with his band, ze Lollygaggers, and he has produced an annual benefit concert for the WISH Drop-In Centre since 1991. Pete has recorded a number of CDs (as Peter Graham-Gaudreau), including 2017's Feel Everything, and his first solo effort, Going Somewhere Slow, which provided the soundtrack for his award-winning play of the same name, and the short film based on that play; he has also written a full-length screenplay adapted from the play.

Pete also performs as a musician and circus artist - Pan Am Games 2015, 2010 Olympics, Cirque du Soleil promo etc. - across Canada. He has a solo, interactive musical stage show for youth - Let's Make A Song! - that is a hit at festivals near and far, and as well performs music and sports on stilts, both solo, and with his wife & kids, as The Superfun Stiltwalking Family.

Pete continues to pursue his love of sport - he has competed in the Vancouver International Triathlon and other land and ocean-based races, and is an avid Nordic skier and ocean swimmer. He is actively involved with a number of charities, and has received several community awards.
