It was an unexpected X Factor this evening for the first Judges' Houses. The results were announced live, with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell naming the three acts they'd be taking to the Live shows from the Groups and the Overs.
Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora have yet to make their decisions, but tonight had plenty of talking points, particularly from Simon's camp. Digital Spy was watching along and had a look at what the general public were thinking. Here is a round-up of the best tweets:
Bupsi got nasty for the 10 millionth time:
If Louis Walsh was still a judge, he'd by telling Bupsi that she reminds him of a young Sinitta. #XFactor

A mind-blowing Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer landed early this morning (October 20), and the return of Han Solo and Princess Leia quickly sent Twitter into meltdown.
Emotions ran high after the clip arrived, with many fans - famous or otherwise - tearing up at the first full length clip.
Digital Spy rounds up some of the best reactions below (and don't be surprised if all that excitement brings out the odd bit of strong language...):
What? Who gets emotional over a movie trailer? (sniff) #TheForceAwakens

This year's Oscar nominees are pretty straight, especially compared to the last few years where we had a strong showing with The Kids Are Alright, Pariah and Albert Nobbs. Fear not — we've got a way to keep it gay when you watch the ceremony this Sunday, at least as far as the women go.

Nominated for: Best Actress, Zero Dark Thirty
Queer Quotient: Before she was the hottest new actress in Hollywood, Jessica starred in the indie Jolene where she has a lesbian relationship with Frances Fisher. She also posed for a sensual photo with Kat Dennings in W magazine once.

Queer Quotient: JLaw once told The New York Times her mom thought she was gay because she loved painting portraits of naked women.

The post-"Harry Potter" education of Emma Watson began, in a way, at Brown University. Searching for her first film after completing the boy-wizard franchise, the Ivy League actress found some unlikely career advisors in the form of her fellow college students, who told her that she simply had to sign up for "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," an adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's seminal novel.
"Honestly, I had never read the book before, but a lot of my friends at Brown were hugely into it, and when I told them I had this script, they were crazy excited," Watson told MTV News.

It’s four days of experimental media madness in the Sunshine State when the 7th annual Florida Experimental Film/Video Festival — also known as Flex Fest — runs in Gainesville on Feb. 17-20. The majority of the festival will take place at the Top Secret Space, with the exception of a Saturday afternoon screening of all 35mm films at the Hippodrome State Theater.
This year’s judges for the festival are film preservationist Mark Toscano and filmmaker Vanessa Renwick, both of whom will open the fest with two curated programs. First, Toscano will be screening several rare underground films from the late ’50s to the early ’70s, from filmmakers such as Fred Worden, David Bienstock, Chris Langdon and more. Then, Renwick will screen several of her own short documentaries, including the wonderfully eerie Britton, South Dakota and the touching 9 is a secret. These are two events that really are not to be missed.

The British designer — and mum of three — is back with new fashions for GapKids.
Stella McCartney gave guests like supermodel and friend Kate Moss and sister Mary McCartney a sneak peek off her new spring line at Porchester Hall in London, England on Tuesday.
Both chic and cute, it’s full of bright colored jackets and sweaters, western-style shirts, floral dresses, graphic tees and fun sneakers.
And like her first collection, we’re loving it all.

Michael Roberts. Photographs courtesy of Nick Harvey. 'Twas right before Thanksgiving when Vanity Fair fashion and style director Michael Roberts kicked off his Snowman in Africa world book tour with a signing party at the Gucci store on Fifth Avenue, in New York City. The illustrated children's book is a follow up to Roberts's Snowman in Paradise (Chronicle Books, 2004), and 100 percent of the proceeds from the book, available exclusively at Gucci stores, benefit Unicef. Gucci also comissioned Snowman in Africa accessories for the holiday season, including medium-sized Joy handbags and small leather goods. Last night, the snowman hopped the pond and landed at the Gucci store on Sloane Street, in London, where Roberts held court alongside a crew of London-based V.F.ers (AA Gill, Elizabeth Saltzman Walker, and Kate Reardon among them), along with Gucci-clad social fixtures, including Poppy Delevigne, Daisy de Villeneuve, and Caroline Seiber. Next stop on the snowman's social calendar?...

David Furnish, DVD cover for the director's cut of Tantrums and Tiaras
Just over fifteen years ago, David Furnish attended a dinner where he met pop superstar Elton John, an evening that would forever alter Furnish’s life. Two years after that fateful evening, Furnish had quit his job at a prestigious London advertising agency, moved in with John, and, as he famously documented in Tantrums and Tiaras (his first foray into filmmaking) joined John on his 1995 world tour.
This week, a director’s cut of Tantrums and Tiaras is being released, the first time the film has been available in any home format in the U.S. Furnish recently took time to talk with AfterElton.com about why he made the movie, how it changed his relationship with John, and what it’s like to be one half of the highest profile same-sex couples in the world.
