Director's Cut, Inc. founder and groomer, Steve "Sincere" Gilles doesn't solely improve one's appearance, he provides an experience. He is known for illuminating the star power of clients like Michael K. Williams (Actor), Jonathan Majors (Actor), Idris Elba (Actor/DJ/Musician), Diggy Simmons (Actor/Recording Artist), Tony Rock (Comedian), Hill Harper (Actor/Activist), Anthony Mackie (Actor), and many more. His television credits feature hit shows like Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Saturday Night Live (NBC), The Night Of (HBO), Hap and Leonard (Sundance TV), and Lovecraft Country (HBO) to name only a few.
After several years spent honing his craft inside popular Brooklyn barbershops, Sincere realized the demand for an upscale grooming agency that catered to the cosmetic needs of professionals within the fast-paced worlds of entertainment and business. The birth of Director's Cut, Inc. became the supply to the demand. Today, through his 16-year-old boutique, Sincere accentuates manes and crowns with precise craftsmanship and design, also providing skin care services to an array of creatives, whether their profession finds them in front of the camera or behind the scenes.
Sincere was born and raised in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY. Always an artistic child, he received statewide recognition for his aptitude to illustrate on an exceptional level. His former years included attending Washington Irving High School, during which his personal art and fashionable sense of style bloomed. Two years after graduation, he decided to put his artistic talent and insurmountable drive into learning the craft of men's grooming. The rest is history.
