Kevin Feige and the Russos on Hawkeye’s absence from the Avengers: Infinity War marketing campaign

We’re just two days out from the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War, and so far there’s been no sight nor sound of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton in any of the promotional material from Marvel, with his absence leading some to question whether Hawkeye is even going to make an appearance in the hotly-anticipated superhero ensemble.

While it seems we won’t have confirmation of that until the film’s release, both Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo have been chatting to io9 about the whole #WheresHawkeye mystery,

“I think it’s one of the best things that ever happened to Hawkeye,” said Feige. We [at Marvel] love Hawkeye. There are big, big story things coming up for Hawkeye and Jeremy Renner is as strong an actor as anyone in the McU and awesome as this character. But ‘The guy with the bow and arrow jokes’, right?

Chris Pratt says Avengers: Infinity War will meet all expectations

Rather excitingly, we’re just a few days away from the superhero event that is Avengers: Infinity War, and as you’d expect fan expectations are through the roof. Fortunately, the movie is going to meet and exceed these expectations – at least, according to Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt.

“This was a monumental undertaking,” Pratt told Hollywood Xyz. “Shooting these films with the amount of cast members that are in it, the level of secrecy, and the lock and key under which the script was kept, the Russo brothers did an amazing job. Ten years in the making. 18 films, all leading up to this. It was unreal. I mean, they’re sort of embargoing everything and not letting us say anything, because I think that they know what they have. So I can say in terms of expectations, you can raise them as high as you want, they will be met with this film.

Three new TV spots for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Here’s a handful of new TV spots for Marvel StudiosAvengers: Infinity War, which is set to be the epic “end” of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it and the start of a whole new chapter (or “phase” as Marvel like to call it) for the interconnected universe – which is set to less rely on old heroes and focus more on all-new heroes in the McU.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence

Avengers: Infinity War directors reveal Corvus Glaive actor

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve learned that Carrie Coon, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Terry Notary are playing the Black Order members Promixa Midnight, Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian in Avengers: Infinity War, leaving the identity of just one member, Corvus Glaive, a mystery.

Given that his role is yet to be revealed, there’s been much speculation that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage would be portraying the character, but as we told you a couple of weeks ago, that isn’t the case.

Unfortunately we were sworn to secrecy as to the actor’s identity at the time (we did tease the DC TV connection though), but now Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed to Cinema Blend that Corvus Glaive is actually being portrayed by Michael James Shaw, an actor you may recognise as Papa Midnite in NBC’s short-lived Constantine series.

So, now

Josh Brolin reveals whether he preferred playing Thanos or Cable

The next month is going to be huge for Josh Brolin as he takes on the roles of two major comic book characters, battling Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, before going toe-to-toe with the Merc with a Mouth as Cable in Deadpool 2.

During an interview with Total Film, Brolin was put in the rather awkward position of being asked to choose between the two, with the actor ultimately opting for the Mad Titan due to the technology involved in bringing Thanos to life.

“Look, I really like doing Cable, and it’s practical,” said Brolin. “But I think if I was to have a preference, it’d be Thanos, just because my expectation was pretty low, given that I just thought I was a prop. And it was quite the opposite, having seen enough of the movie and realised how cutting edge this technical process is,

Avengers: Infinity War’s Battle of Wakanda ran for 25 script pages, states Anthony Mackie

We already know that the third act of Avengers: Infinity War is set entirely in Wakanda, and it seems much of that will be taken up with the epic battle sequence between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos’ forces, as the Avengers make one final stand against the Mad Titan in an effort to prevent him from acquiring all six Infinity Stones.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Anthony Mackie revealed that – as with much of the cast – he was only given a portion of the screenplay for Infinity War, with the Falcon actor stating that: “I got 25 pages, which was the final fight sequence. And I sent a long email, like, ‘this movie is going to be awful, how does this work, there’s no story, this is gonna be the longest fight sequence ever.”

We have of course become accustomed to epic action sequences at the end of each Avengers movie,

Avengers: Infinity War director says “there is nobody” who can take over from Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

As we fast approach the end of the first chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Avengers: Infinity War and next year’s Avengers 4, it is expected that we’ll be bidding farewell to some of our favourite heroes as contracts expire, actors move on, and the landscape of the McU shifts towards some newer faces.

One of the actors who many expect to make way over the next two Avengers movies is Robert Downey Jr., who of course kickstarted the entire McU when he took on the role of Tony Stark back in 2008’s Iron Man. However, Marvel will be wasting its time trying to find a successor, at least according to Infinity War co-director Joe Russo, who believes Downey is irreplaceable.

“There is nobody who can take over Iron Man from Robert,” said Russo, who also directed the actor in Captain America: Civil War. “He can’t play the character forever.

Josh Brolin confirms Avengers scene with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel

Josh Brolin has confirmed that he is sharing a scene with Brie Larson in an upcoming Avengers movie.

Avengers: Infinity War and its companion movie, Avengers 4, are set to be such colossal events, bringing all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe together, it can be hard to keep track of which characters will be appearing and where.

Brie Larson’s yet to be debuted Captain Marvel is unlikely to be appearing in Infinity War but with that film shot back to back with Avengers 4, Brolin’s comments about sharing a scene with her indicate that the fourth movie will likely be where this takes place.
