Sophia Armstrong

Sophia Armstrong was born and raised in a small country town, nestled in the hills of the South West of WA. In 2019 she completed her Master of Screen at the WA Screen Academy specializing in directing and producing. Throughout 2020 and into 2021 Sophia worked with production companies Cockatoo Colab and RUSH Films, assisting on a range of projects. Sophia became the Short Film Assistant for CinefestOZ Film Festival in 2020, and is now the Short Film Coordinator. Sophia used 2020 to build up her experience, working on a broad range of Short Films, TVCs and Web Series. Sophia's most notable credits include Associate Producing, 1st Assistant Directing and Production Managing on the Screenwest funded web series Homespun, Co-Producing the Screenwest funded short film Tooly with Cody Greenwood, working as a Crowd AD on It Only Takes a Night and is in post-production as the producer for a Screenwest and Screen Australia funded web series called Out of Here. Most recently Sophia worked in the Goldfields as the Assistant Coordinator on Mystery Road Origin and received Screenwest development funding for two projects, a TikTok series called Amy the Pirate and a web series called I'd Rather Eat Cake. Sophia hopes to produce work now and in the future which will inspire or change those who watch her work.
