Carl Schwaber
CARL SCHWABER - a dynamic character actor, brings an edgy and authentic east-coast vibe to his work together with a strong presence on film, television and stage. Bronx-born, raised in Boston and a former schoolteacher, Carl possesses a wry sense of humor. Both irreverent and genuine on and off camera, one casting director gave him the following critique: "bad guy with a heart of gold."

Carl appeared on the hit show, Criminal Minds, as a smarmy pimp with a hidden agenda. Carl also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, performing a comedy sketch with TV personality, Howie Mandel. He enjoyed playing historical figures in documentary films on PBS and Science Channel.

Favorite stage roles include Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing; Schultz, the fiery prison guard in Tennessee Williams' Not About Nightingales; and the comically unsentimental Cabbie in Jay Hanagan's Along for the Ride, which took first place in New York's Samuel French Short Play Festival.

Carl's passion for acting began in secondary school and continued through his college years at Wesleyan University, where he pursued formal training and frequently performed on stage.

Carl has sung baritone in scores of musical theatre productions, choral concerts, and a cappella-group performances.

As a voice-over artist, Carl has performed on TV and radio and has narrated three audiobooks that appear on Amazon. He played a leading role in the audio-theatre production, The Slasher, and a recurring role on the podcast, We're Alive, which garnered an international following.

Having traveled extensively abroad, Carl speaks Hebrew and French fluently. Carl has run three marathons-two in New York City and one in Boston-and is an active tennis player.

His published play, The Long Way Home--a stage adaptation of Homer's epic poem, THE ODYSSEY--has been produced at high schools throughout the country and sold in bookstores around the world.
