Brandon C Stanley is a composer and clarinetist who creates music for a wide range of media. He pushes the envelope by incorporating original recordings and meticulous sound design with each piece of music that he constructs. His compositional process is driven by his knowledge of the orchestra, and also inspired by various aspects of jazz and popular music.
Having learned to play the clarinet at an early age, the instrument has always been at the root of his musical identity. He invariably explores other wind instruments such as saxophones, recorders, tin whistles, and ocarinas to incorporate them into original works. He consistently records for his own projects as well as colleagues.
Brandon started composing in high school; writing and arranging for the concert band and jazz ensemble. His extensive music studies began at the University of Illinois where he focused on music theory and orchestration. He completed his Bachelors of Music in Composition at Columbia College Chicago where he studied under Grammy nominated composer, Ilya Levinson. Brandon received his MFA from Columbia College Chicago, where he was a graduate assistant to Kubilay Uner. While in school, Brandon continued to collaborate with many artists on short films, video games, and installations while also having his music regularly accepted into the VGM music production library.
He actively looks for creative opportunities and aims to form long lasting connections with filmmakers.
