Interview: Brian Huskey on the Return of Mr. Neighbor’S House and Being a Part of the Latest Season of The X-Files

In 2016, Adult Swim debuted a one-off special called Mr. Neighbor’s House which starred Brian Huskey as the eponymous character who takes us through a delightfully demented sendup of children’s television programming tropes that isn’t exactly what it seems. On June 24th, Mr. Neighbor and all his wacky friends like Buddy the puppet, Miss Lady, and Chef Bread, are back for more shenanigans, as it was recently announced that Mr. Neighbor’s House 2 will premiere at midnight, and fans are not going to want to miss out on all the weirdness that awaits them.

Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with Huskey, who discussed coming back for another Mr. Neighbor’s House special alongside fellow creators Jason Mantzoukas and Jesse Falcon, and how they found the balance between Mr. Neighbor’s surreal world and the real-life horrors of Huskey’s character’s existence. We also chatted

"Locke & Key" Scores Series Order at Netflix, With Carlton Cuse as Ep

Will Netflix finally be the outlet to unlock the potential in Locke & Key?

The streaming service has handed a straight-to-series order to the comics-based drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter, after Hulu scrapped their own version earlier this year. The project will be entirely recast, but Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) will remain onboard as an executive producer.

The original comic book written by Joe Hill — who’ll serve as an Ep as well — centers on a group of teens who stumble across a collection of magical keys that bring with them supernatural powers… and attract the attention of demons from other realms.

Dog Days Teaser Trailer Hopes To Sell Relationships With Cute Overload

Dog Days may seem like a film that screams to be dismissed out of hand, assuming you aren’t instantly sold on all things dog related, but when you look at it a little closer you see that this one might actually be a lot of fun. First, and easiest to miss, it’s directed by Ken Marino, who you know from all sorts of things, including Children’s Hospital. It isn’t perhaps a guarantee that this is a winner, but if he’s involved there is something about the comedic sensibility that is worth giving the benefit of doubt. Beyond Marino, the film has a cast that is worth noticing, even if the teaser trailer wants to focus on all the dogs and more generally the angsty antics of the film’s dog owners. The film stars Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Pally, Eva Longoria, Rob Corddry, Tone Bell,

10 Modern Horror Comedies That Deserve More Love

Over the years, I’ve been pretty vocal about how much I adore horror comedies, and considering how challenging the world at large has been over the last few years, it’s truly my favorite subsection of the genre to disappear into as of late. There have been numerous brilliant humorous horror movies over the years, but I thought now would be the perfect time to celebrate 10 films from the modern landscape of genre cinema that have not only been largely under-appreciated by fans, but also do a killer job of finding new ways to merge the funnies with the frights.

Just a note before we begin: I purposefully left off films like Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, What We Do in the Shadows, Cabin in the Woods, Zombieland, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, The Frighteners and projects of that caliber, because I feel like some of those

2017-12-20T07:27:41-08:00Comedy Central Cancels T.J. Miller Series

In an unfortunate coincidence for T.J. Miller, his Comedy Central series The Gorburger Show was cancelled on the same day that stories of an alleged sexual assault in his past surfaced. Comedy Central says the two events are unrelated and that it was planning to cancel the series before news of the alleged assault broke. Since leaving Silicon Valley on less-than-friendly terms, Miller has landed several supporting roles in movies, but his first starring vehicle, the animated The Emoji Movie, flopped over the summer.

Comedy Central has canceled T.J. Miller's animated series The Gorburger Show after one season.

News of the cancellation came Tuesday, the same day the former Silicon Valley star was accused of sexual assault and violence by an anonymous woman in a Daily Beast story, though a rep

Dwayne Johnson on His Rock-Solid Empire and Walk of Fame Honor

Dwayne Johnson on His Rock-Solid Empire and Walk of Fame Honor
It’s midnight and my phone rings. “Hey, E-Wag!” exclaims a deeply masculine, yet comforting and chipper voice.

It’s Dwayne Johnson. The pro wrestler-turned-superstar is calling from the car in Hawaii on his way to catch an overnight plane from the first stop of his “Jumanji” press tour to the next leg of the global gabfest in Paris.

Despite squeezing in a call during his only 45 minutes of free time, in transit, nonetheless, Johnson’s enthusiasm and focus is magnetic. His personal greeting to this reporter is perfectly in line with how he interacts with his 175 million followers on social media every day, and is evident of The Rock’s unique knack to form a genuine connection with everyone from fan from studio executive. His commitment to a simple phone interview is exemplary of how he attaches himself to each and every project — and there are a lot of them.

‘Drunk History’: Derek Waters Previews Season 5 and Acknowledges the Insanity of Getting Oscar-Winning Guest Stars
Ten years after the invention of the “Drunk History” format, comedian Derek Waters is reconsidering how to describe the performers who get wasted, then narrate their take on a pivotal moment in history. “I want to start calling them ‘storytellers,'” he said. “It sounds more important. I think ‘narrator’ sounds like a voiceover actor.”

Indeed, the term “narrator” doesn’t quite do justice to what intoxicated celebrities bring to the series, which returned to television Tuesday night after nearly 13 months off the air.

Tuesday’s “Drunk History Christmas Special” will be followed by the show’s full return on January 23. It’s been a long time since new “Drunk History” episodes premiered, something Waters (who co-created the show with Jeremy Konner) acknowledged. “If I was a fan, I’m thinking the show’s over,” he said. “‘I thought you were dead.’ But that’s better like that than people going,

Watch J.J. Abrams Auction Off Star Wars 9 Plot for $10K
Star Wars has been big on charity work during the Disney era. Over the course of making each one of the new movies, Disney and Lucasfilm have found quite a few opportunities to auction off amazing experiences for fans. It gives Star Wars lovers something special and it does some good for those who need it. Last night, J.J. Abrams auctioned off the chance for one lucky fan to have him whisper the plot of Star Wars 9 to them two years in advance. While the winning bid was high, it didn't go down how you'd expect.

The auction of the Star Wars 9 plot was part of HBO's Night of Too Many Stars, which was held to benefit Next for Autism. Jon Stewart was hosting the event and, at one point, he decided to bring J.J. Abrams out on stage to offer up this special opportunity. Then the bidding started. Things

Rob Huebel on His ‘Comedy Mafia’ and Making Justin Long Strip Naked at a Malibu Beach — Turn It On Podcast
For his new YouTube Red series, Rob Huebel couldn’t find a nude beach to shoot a scene. So he forced a nude Justin Long on unsuspecting families at a beach in Malibu.

“We’re naked, and families are out there, children are crying, and other people are out there filming us with their phones,” Huebel told IndieWire’s Turn It On podcast. “The producers had to go up to people and say, ‘hey man, please don’t post that naked photo of Justin Long on the Internet or sell it to TMZ!”

Long is one of the guests on Huebel’s new irreverent YouTube Red series “Do You Want to See A Dead Body?” The comedy features Huebel and celebrity friends as they search for a dead body that Huebel has found.

“It’s such an absurd premise,” Huebel admitted. “Sometimes we find the body, sometimes we don’t find the body,
