Johannes Rass, born 2002 in Wolfsberg (AT), is a film editor. He is an editing student at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2023. In the two years before that, he had worked as an assistant editor in Vienna and was able to be part of several projects relevant to his career, including Club Zero by Jessica Hausner, The Outrun by Nora Fingscheidt and Kafka by David Schalko. Karina Ressler and Stephan Bechinger are among the editors who have particularly influenced him and with whom he works regularly. At the same time, he also had to complete his nine-month community service. The experience he gained as a paramedic with the Red Cross strengthened his differentiated view of the world. Up until this point, he had pursued music as a hobby - he had been taking trumpet lessons since the age of six.
Between 2016 and 2021, he attended the Film & Multimedia Art department at the HTBLVA Ortweinschule Graz, where he was involved in many inter-year projects - radio plays, short documentaries, short fictional and experimental films. This is where his fascination for editing and film blossomed.
