Writer/Director Daniel R. Chavez at "Broken Glass" Cast & Crew screening at Warner Bros. during interview.
Daniel R. Chavez was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. A graduate of North Hollywood High School and UCLA, majoring in Business with a minor in Film, he began his career with Columbia Pictures and rose thru the ranks gaining great insight into how a major studio operates. Daniel went on to management and executive positions with The Walt Disney Co., SoundStorm and Gray Matter. When Daniel was appointed Vice President of Post Production Services for Warner Bros. he was able to feel the real warmth of creative fires, establishing relationships with industry artisans and icons within film and television. During this time he was reading many scripts and began writing in earnest. This in turn allowed his passion for directing to surface. In 2010, Daniel launched DragonCove Studios, a full service production company where he began producing and directing commercials. With a full understanding and practical experience of concept to air, he fulfilled a goal by making "Broken Glass" - his writing and directorial award-winning feature film debut. Both original productions and acquisitions continue to be the main pursuit of Chavez and his DragonCove Studios banner.
