Ron Perlman Says Hellboy’s Still An Open Wound For Him

Hellboy fans are currently looking forward to seeing the reboot of the Dark Horse Comics character that’ll be hitting theaters next year, starring David Harbour as the Right Hand of Doom. However, the excitement’s tinged with a sense of sadness, too, as director Neil Marshall’s reboot comes at the cost of the long-touted trilogy closer to Guillermo del Toro’s first two Hellboy films.

As bummed as fans of those cult favorite movies are that the third installment never happened, imagine how star Ron Perlman must feel. The actor has often seemed reluctant to discuss the reboot on past occasions and during an in-depth chat with Collider, he revealed why. Apparently, the topic of Hellboy is still an “open wound” for him, as he’s so disappointed that he and del Toro never got to finish what they started.

“I felt like we owed the fans closure,

A dark matter hurricane can help astroparticle physicists uncover elusive particles.

"Heads up, we’re in a hurricane we can’t see. Its superpower of invisibility comes from the fact that it’s made of dark matter. And astroparticle physicists found an excellent use for this invisible space hurricane: solving the mystery of what makes up the mysterious substance. In a paper published November 7 in the journal Physics Review D, researchers from Universidad de Zaragoza, King’s College London, and the UK’s Institute of Astronomy predict higher chances of identifying dark matter by using detailed satellite data on the movements of the stars."

‘Stranger Things’ Is the Top Show in Streaming — and There Hasn’t Been a New Episode for a Year

‘Stranger Things’ Is the Top Show in Streaming — and There Hasn’t Been a New Episode for a Year
The last new episode of “Stranger Things” dropped on Netflix October 27, 2017; it will be another nine months or so before the release of Season 3. But here, absence makes the heart grow fonder: According to at least one measurement, “Stranger Things” remains the most popular series among original digital TV content.

Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and the other major streaming services infamously refuse to share viewership data, but there are other ways to measure series popularity. Nielsen occasionally reveals streaming viewership data from its people meters, while Parrot Analytics offers a proprietary metric, “Demand Expressions,” which looks at a variety of factors in determining a digital series’ popularity.

According to the service, “Stranger Things” has led the pack among all streaming shows over the past 90 days, followed closely by Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black.”

The “Demand Expressions” measurement combines streaming, peer-to-peer downloads, social media, comments, blogs and other sources. These measurements are weighed by importance,

Thomas Haden Church reportedly playing Lobster Johnson in Hellboy

Having portrayed the character of Flint Marko / Sandman in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, actor Thomas Haden Church revealed earlier this year that he’d shot a secret role in a comic book movie, and if a report from Discussing Film is accurate, it seems that secret has now been revealed.

According to the site, the film in question is the upcoming Hellboy reboot from Lionsgate, with Church reportedly playing the classic fan favourite Hellboy character Lobster Johnson.

Created by Mike Mignola, Lobster Johnson was a vigilante from the 1930s who operated in secret, and had a reputation for brutality and violence, often killing mobsters and burning his trademark lobster claw symbol into their foreheads. He was killed during a mission against the Nazis in 1939, but returns even more powerful as a ghost, working with Hellboy and the Bprd on a number of missions.

During the New York Comic Con last month,

Thomas Haden Church Reportedly Plays Lobster Johnson in The Hellboy Reboot

Spider-Man 3 and Sideways star Thomas Haden Church was reportedly cast is director Neil Marshall’s Hellboy reboot. According to Discussing Film, Church will take on the pulp era vigilante Lobster Johnson.

Apparently Haden Church previously teased the role earlier this year during an interview with JoBlo. Church was asked if he would ever return to the superhero movie genre after playing Sandman in Spider-Man 3 and this was his response:

“I’m not supposed to talk about it, but I actually have returned, but not in the Marvel world, it’s another world, but it is in that genre of superheroes and supervillains. I’m not supposed to talk about it, it’s a movie I shot last year. They’re trying to keep it-and good luck to ‘em-with, y’know, today man, I’m surprised it hasn’t already kinda been revealed.”

In case you’re not familiar with Lobster Johnson,

Apparently The Upcoming Hellboy Reboot Has a Poor First Test Screening

I’ve actually been pretty excited about seeing director Neil Marshall’s Hellboy reboot with David Harbour in the role of the hellish hero. I like everything that I’ve seen and heard about it so far, but apparently the first test screening for the film didn’t go too well.

The first reactions are being reported on and it’s not promising. The news comes from DanielRPK who heard from some audience members that were in attendance at the test screening for the film. He says that the reactions have been “pretty bad.”

Asher Trailer: Ron Perlman Is a Badass Assassin on the Verge of Retirement
Those holding out hope that Ron Perlman would finally return as the Right Hand of Doom in Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy 3 were dealt a deathblow when it was decided that Lionsgate would reboot the franchise instead, bringing in Stranger Things star David Harbour to play Big Red. Well, now fans are being offered a little bit of relief with the news that Ron Perlman is returning to the big screen as a badass hitman for hire who's about to retire in Asher.

First Reactions To Hellboy Say It’s Pretty Bad, Story And Villain Are Lacking

It’s fair to say when it was first revealed that the Hellboy franchise was going to be rebooted and director Guillermo del Toro and star Ron Perlman wouldn’t get the chance to make a third film and complete their trilogy, fans of the Dark Horse comics character were pretty angry. The more we’ve learned about the project though, the more people’s opinions of it have begun to change and after Lionsgate showed off what was apparently a very impressive trailer at New York Comic Con, everything seemed to be on the right track.

Judging by the online reactions to it, everyone was pretty pleased with what they laid eyes on last month, and though the studio still hasn’t made it available online just yet, it seems that they’ve already begun test screening the film. However, unlike reactions to the trailer at Nycc, the response hasn’t been great,
