Rushes: Berlinale Competition, the Making of "A Hidden Life," Changes in Film Preservation

Actor, writer, and director Terry Jones, best known for his involvement in the Monty Python comedy group and for directing the 1983 Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, has died. Recommended VIEWINGGrasshopper Films has released a trailer for Pedro Costa's bold Vitalina Varela, about a woman who arrives in Lisbon from Cape Verde to attend her estranged husband's funeral. Upon its premiere at 2019's Locarno Film Festival, editor Daniel Kasman described it as "a film of fierce determination and paramount resonance.

Terrence Malick Retrospective Coming to Museum of the Moving Image

As we reflect on the last ten years, it’s difficult to think of a director with a more thrilling, inventive output than Terrence Malick. After setting a high bar for the decade that still has yet to be topped with his magnum opus The Tree of Life, he delivered a trio of formally stunning, forward-thinking gems, a pair of awe-inspiring IMAX documentaries, and, finally, before the decade comes to a close, his acclaimed WWII-era drama A Hidden Life. If you’re in NYC you will now be able to experience all of these films on the big screen, as well as the rest of his filmography. Timed with the release of his newest film, Museum of the Moving Image in Queens is presenting a retrospective titled Moments of Grace: The Collected Terrence Malick.

Battle of Midway,, World War II naval battle, fought almost entirely with aircraft, in which the United States destroyed Japan’s first-line carrier strength and most of its best trained naval pilots. Together with the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of Midway ended the threat of further Japanese invasion in the Pacific.

The Hot Hitman: Agent 47 Trailer And Poster Are Here

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for the upcoming action film, Hitman: Agent 47. Based on the bestselling video game, Hitman: Agent 47 is a followup to the 2007 film Hitman featuring Timothy Olyphant, Dougray Scott and Olga Kurylenko.

The latest movie, directed by Aleksander Bach, stars Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds, and Thomas Kretschmann.

When the White House is invaded by mercenaries, it’s up to Secret Service agent hopeful John Cale (Tatum) to protect the Commander-In-Chief (Foxx). Gyllenhaal plays the head of the Secret Service who interviews Capitol police officer Cale for the job of protecting the President before the invasion.

Also starring James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Rachelle Lefevre, Joey King and Garcelle Beauvais, Columbia Pictures will release White House Down in theaters June 28, 2013.

It was announced today that the epic drama Cloud Atlas will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® format and released in select North American IMAX® theatres on Oct. 26, 2012. Warner Bros. Pictures’ film will be a fabulous IMAX journey! Based on the best-selling novel by David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas is written for the screen and directed by Matrix filmmakers Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer and Andy Wachowski. It features a stellar ensemble cast led by Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant, all appearing in multiple roles.
