- He was a stunt rider on the They Died with Their Boots On (1941). He was doing a horse fall and landed on the blade of a sword that had fallen on the field where they were filming the scene and had gotten wedged between two rocks.
- Less than a week after Jack's death, his brother Milton, Jr. (born 13 June 1916) was injured in an automobile accident, and died on 12 August 1941.
