Anton Bakarski was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1995 he graduated as MA in Cinematography from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, Sofia. During his studies, his student films participated in the competition programs and won some of the most prestigious short film festivals (Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Munich, Oberhausen, Clermont Ferrand, Drama). He began his professional career as a camera operator working for cinematographer such as Kees Van Oostrum, Russell Boyd, Shelly Johnson, Simon Duggan, Thomas Kloss and Ed Wild. With hundreds of credits and more than 20 years of experience, Anton has shot both on film and digital. He has worked as DoP and camera operator for features, documentaries, commercials and TV series in a variety of genres. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria he has shot internationally in the US, Russia, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Qatar, Romania and other places worldwide. His works have screened at many International film festivals - Cannes, Sundance, Karlovy Vary, Shanghai and Los Angeles, just to name a few. He is an active member of the Bulgarian Association of Cinematographers (BAC) and IMAGO.
