Gerard Butler Accidentally Burned Himself With Acid While Filming Plane

Gerard Butler Accidentally Burned Himself With Acid While Filming Plane
Plane star Gerard Butler shares the story of how he accidentally burned himself with dangerous acid while filming the upcoming action thriller. Best known for movies like 300, Law Abiding Citizen, Olympus Has Fallen, and Greenland, Butler continues to make a name for himself in the action genre. While not all of his films are critical darlings, the movies generally prove popular with audiences with the Has Fallen franchise alone now gearing up for its fourth installment. Butler's latest movie, Plane, sees the actor playing pilot Brodie Torrance who is forced to land his aircraft in a warzone during a storm.

In a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Butler recalls one particularly unpleasant experience while filming Plane that involved burning his face and hands with phosphoric acid.

The actor reveals that he somehow got the acid on his hands while pretending to fix part of the plane

‘Plane’ Review: Gerard Butler Pilots This Serviceable But Fun B-Movie-Style Action Flick

‘Plane’ Review: Gerard Butler Pilots This Serviceable But Fun B-Movie-Style Action Flick
You can imagine the committee meetings devoted to finding just the right title for primo action star Gerard Butler’s latest, in which he plays an airline pilot encountering lightning strikes that force him to crash-land on a rebel-infested remote island in the Philippines. As it criss-crosses the airline disaster genre and frightening jungle thriller, why not just tell the public what it really is. While it could be called Terror Island, or maybe Pirates Jungle, or Flight to the Death, the producers came up with the inspired plain Plane. That works well enough for anyone expecting Airport meets The High and the Mighty, but really it is just the first half that fits snugly into that category, nail-biting as it is.

Most of the action comes when the plane somehow survives a fierce lightning storm (nice FX here) by crash-landing in the largely uninhabited Jolo Island Cluster in the

The upcoming film based on an original idea from Charles Cumming follows commercial pilot Brodie Torrance (Butler), who after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in hostile territory, finds himself threatened by militant pirates who are planning to take the plane and its passengers hostage. As the world’s authorities and media search for the disappeared aircraft, Brodie must rise to the occasion and keep his passengers safe long enough for help to arrive.

Jean-François Richet directed the pic, which also stars Mike Colter, Daniella Pineda, Kelly Gale, Yoson An, Remi Adeleke, Haleigh Hekking, Lilly Krug, Joey Slotnick, Oliver Trevena, Tony Goldwyn and Paul Ben-Victor. ’18 ½’ By Dan Mirvish Spins Tale Of Missing Nixon Tape On Watergate’s 50th Anniversary – Specialty Preview
“It’s been the great mystery in political history of the past 50 years,” said Slamdance Film Festival founder, writer and director Dan Mirvish of the eighteen-and-a-half minutes famously missing from the Nixon Tapes. His campy political thriller out this weekend takes a stab at what might have happened.

Adventure Entertainment opens 18 1/2 today on four screens in NY, LA, and Fort Lauderdale, expanding next week to about 60 including a special screening Wednesday at the Landmark Theatres E Street Cinema in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Watergate. The National Archives is screening CNN documentary series Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal the same night at a dueling event with John Dean, who was President Richard Nixon’s counsel from July, 1970 to April, 1973. The mother of U.S. political scandals exploded in June of 1972 when five men broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate hotel and office complex.

‘Shattered’ VOD Review

‘Shattered’ VOD Review
Stars: Cameron Monaghan, Frank Grillo, John Malkovich, Sasha Luss, Lilly Krug, Ash Santos, James C. Burns, Dat Phan | Written by David Loughery | Directed by Luis Prieto

Thirteen years after his last screenplay credit, writer David Loughery, who wrote blockbuster 90s action films like Passenger 57 and The Three Musketeers, returned to movies with Lakeview Terrace in 2008, and since then he seems to have specialised in films that feature characters with ulterior motives, who aren’t who they think you are; and with Obsessed he almost single-handedly looked to revive the low-budget thriller genre that was so prevalent during the era he last penned scripts for Hollywood. That determination continued with his scripts for films like Penthouse North and The Intruder; in 2020 he spiced things ups throwing in some eroticism with the script for Fatale and now comes Shattered, which takes the genre to its Basic Instinct-style roots. Though to be

Anthony Hopkins in High-Tech Mystery Thriller 'Zero Contact' Trailer

Anthony Hopkins in High-Tech Mystery Thriller 'Zero Contact' Trailer
"I always expected great things of this world..." Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the mystery thriller, wacky sci-fi project called Zero Contact, described as one of the very first Nft movies. We already wrote about this film last year, as they tried to release it on an Nft viewing platform (I don't think anyone watched it). Zero Contact follows five characters all over the world, connected only by their devotion to the late founder and tech titan Finley Hart, played by Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins. Upon his death, five remote agents — including his son — are contacted by a mysterious A.I. entity to reactivate the initiative, which may enable time travel. As sinister events transpire at each of their homes, they must decide whether entering their passwords will save the world... or destroy it. The film stars Hopkins, Aleks Paunovic, Tuva Novotny, Rukiya Bernard, Veronica Ferres, Adrian Holmes, Lilly Krug,

“Shattered”

“Shattered”
Perhaps best known as Ian Gallagher on the Showtime comedy-drama series “Shameless,” Cameron Monaghan is a bright, shining star who’s currently headlining the drama-thriller “Shattered” with Frank Grillo, Lilly Krug, and John Malkovich. I sat down with Monaghan to talk about the film. “Shattered” is now out in select theaters and video-on-demand. https://youtu.be/UNkf_teLM38

‘Shattered’ Review: A Memorable Femme Fatale Does Not an Erotic Thriller Make

‘Shattered’ Review: A Memorable Femme Fatale Does Not an Erotic Thriller Make
If you’ve been awaiting the triumphant return of the erotic thriller, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that “Shattered” is very much an erotic thriller, complete with femme fatale and out-of-his-depth protagonist. The bad news is that, despite a game performance from Lilly Krug, the next “Basic Instinct” this is not. Written by David Loughery and directed by Luis Prieto, “Shattered” comes across as an update on the thrillers of yore — just with the wrong elements updated.

That rule about something seeming too good to be true? Let’s just say it applies when you meet a beautiful woman at the grocery store, her Uber cancels on her, and she isn’t in the mood to go home because her troublesome roommate is there. To its benefit, “Shattered” keeps you on your toes from the very first despite this fishy setup, training you to

Cameron Monaghan on Getting Tortured for His Art in ‘Shattered’ and Saying Goodbye to ‘Shameless’

Cameron Monaghan on Getting Tortured for His Art in ‘Shattered’ and Saying Goodbye to ‘Shameless’
Cameron Monaghan must be a glutton for punishment.

In “Shattered,” the actor plays a wealthy tech guru named Chris who comes to really, really, sincerely regret his fling with the beautiful and mysterious Sky (Lilly Krug). Their meet-cute in the aisle of a supermarket quickly devolves into kidnapping and extortion, with Chris finding himself tied up and brutalized in creatively horrific ways. Think of it as “Fatal Attraction” with buckets of blood.

Shattered,” which definitely isn’t for the faint of stomach, opens on Jan. 14. Monaghan spoke with Variety about what attracted him to the horror-thriller, working with John Malkovich, and saying goodbye to “Shameless,” the Showtime series on which he memorably played Ian Gallagher, the tough-talking gay man from the wrong side of Chicago who finds happiness with charming delinquent Mickey (Noel Fisher).

Why did you want to make “Shattered”?

Shattered” came to me pretty late in the process of its development.
