Jennifer is known for her romantic comedies and female-driven dramas for TV and film with eight holiday romances airing in 2023 on various networks such as UPTV, BET+, QVC and GAC. Writing romance for over fifteen years, she has published 42 novels with Harlequin, Grand Central Publishing, Penguin Random House, Thomas & Mercer and Entangled Publishing. Her twelve current produced rom-coms include book to film adaptations of her novels, Mistletoe & Molly and A Lot Like Christmas. She's also written true-crime and thriller screenplays as work for hire assignments for various production companies.
Her stories of love, romance and love lost have earned Jennifer a loyal following as well as accolades around the world and have been translated into over ten languages. In 2014 and 2015, she won the Booksellers Best Award and her Brookhollow series was a finalist in both The Aspen Gold Awards and Golden Quill Awards. She has received starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly. She also writes gripping, dark psychological thrillers under her pen name J.M. Winchester. Her thrillers have been optioned for film adaptation.
As a former Audrey's Books Writer in Residence and an Edmonton Public Library Spotlight Writer, Jennifer hosts multiple writing workshops a month and has published many writing how to articles in various trade publications. A Canadian born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Jennifer has lived in many parts of Canada including Alberta and British Columbia, but now resides in Torrevieja, Spain with her husband, son and two mischievous cats.
