Barbara Majeski
Barbara Majeski (born Barbara Schwartz, April 22, 1973) is an American Television Personality, Philanthropist
and Lifestyle Expert. Commonly referred to as the "Curator of the Good Life," she is best known for her
appearances on NBC, ABC, Fox News, The Today Show, Inside Edition and The Nick Cannon Show.
Majeski worked as an intern at Bloomberg Financial Markets in Human Resources through both high school
and college, all while waiting tables to pay for her studies. In 1996, Majeski graduated from Towson State
University with her Bachelor's degree in Health Education and went on to join an ambitious direct sales start-up
in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 2011 Majeski started working with Operation Smile. In 2015 Majeski hosted a Holocaust Memorial Event in
Princeton, NJ. She was also awarded a Global Humanitarian Award and was honored by Johnson and
Johnson.
Early Life
Born in Livingston Township, New Jersey. Majeski and her twin brother, were one of two pairs of twins in their
household. Her mother, Eleanor, a triplet herself, was no stranger to the grand adventure that multiples
promised. However, when Majeski's younger brother, Steven, was born with special needs, it was clear that
their journey would be different than most.
Early on, Majeski decided that she would dedicate herself to ensuring that Steven was always taken care of
and that he would never be institutionalized. What seemed like a selfless act in the beginning, quickly turned
into one of the most important decisions of her life - a driving force that would push her to achieve more than
she ever thought possible and inspired her to overcome the fight of her life when she could just as easily have
given up. Humor became their saving grace over the years, and, in essence, this is Steven's story as much as
it is Majeski's.
Career
After graduating Towson State University, Majeski joined a start up in Atlanta Georgia. The role saw her
spending her 20's learning about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, leadership, and how to effectively
scale sales teams across the United States. Starting as a door to door salesperson, this 'cold call commission
sales' chapter in her life nurtured her business acumen; having to think on her feet, and stand tall in the face of
adversity. It instilled the discipline and mental fortitude that would hold her in good stead for the challenges
ahead. During this time, her ability to read audiences and make meaningful connections with people came to
the forefront when she found herself excelling in inspiring, motivating, and educating others. It also helped
Majeski to realize her talent for finding, recruiting and retaining high-level talent in the telecommunications,
internet and technology sector, where Majeski later helped the company build robust national teams.
Personal Life
Majeski married James Majeski in 2003. Majeski & Majeski have 3 Children, Gabe (born December 21, 2003),
Max (born October 24, 2005) and Milena (born September 22, 2011). In 2016 Majeski filed for divorce.
In 2016 not only was Majeski's marriage coming to an end, but she also received a devastating blow of
advanced-stage colon cancer and was facing 6 months of chemotherapy. Completely blindsided, she was
forced to move on and start anew. The next few months were going to be the most trying of her life. She was
physically and emotionally exhausted and had to summon all of her strength just to get through each day.
However, in the darkest of moments, she thought about Steven, his zest for life and the promise she had made
to him as a teenager. She had been given the gift of purpose early on in her life and what was to follow only
proved that everything that happened, all the major shifts and tiny nuances she had experienced were simply
the universe aligning to ensure that she was exactly where she was supposed to be.
Philosophy
Majeski is a firm believer and cannot emphasize enough - the more you give, the more you get. The universe
will conspire in your favor in ways that you can never understand.
Philanthropy Philanthropically, she was thriving. Majeski had just hosted a Holocaust Memorial event honoring the remaining Holocaust survivors in her community - it was profound - and was one of her lifetime highlights. A short while later, she was awarded a Global Humanitarian Award as well as honored by Johnson and Johnson (who would later call her up to offer their full support during the fight for her life) in her role as Philanthropy Ambassador for Operation Smile, a global initiative that has always been close to her heart, focusing on raising much-needed funds for children born with cleft. Her work with Operation Smile would come to mean much more to her life than she ever could have anticipated. Majeski had become involved with Operation Smile many years before this when she went on a medical humanitarian mission with the organization. It was there that she saw first-hand the work that they did and the life-changing impact that they had on children and their families. She was so moved by what she saw and couldn't help but think what would have happened if Steven was born into a different family - one that didn't have the resources or support system to get him the help he needed. She was called to get involved and make a difference. So, on the flight back, she leveraged her network of sales teams across the US, and brought them together to fund a mission. Coming full circle, when Majeski won the Humanitarian Award for this work in 2015, the news was published everywhere. Newspapers, magazines, online. Little did she know that in 2018, after she had survived cancer, she would have the opportunity to amplify the message. Majeski told herself that when she had overcome her illness, she would let nothing stop her from making this her mission. Majeski realized that the only way to do this would be by getting herself on television and doing what she does best. She immediately hired a media trainer who had googled her name and found a video of her speaking on stage for Operation Smile. The fact that she had public speaking experience, backed by a solid track record of results, made her the perfect candidate for a slot on the top-rated morning talk show, the Today Show. Majeski's Second ACT From Majeski's first appearance on the Today Show, she had built her career as a nationally recognized TV personality and lifestyle expert with regular features on the Today, Inside Edition, and Good Day New York among other top-rated shows. She hosted her own Podcast, Baring It All, where they peel back the curtain and dive deep into the backstories of our celebrities, CEO's, and multi-million dollar entrepreneur's and influencers. This has not only given her the opportunity to share some of her best loved lifestyle tips, tricks, and hacks with the nation but also her message of resilience and hope with millions of people across the globe. Today, Majeski works with other ambitious professionals who want to create a life and business they love by sharing their message with the world. She empowers individuals to get out of their own way, helping them to re-write narratives that are sabotaging their opportunities, abundance, and happiness. Having learned from the best in the business, she has spent countless hours developing her own methods, processes and systems that have helped her to create a life of joy-filled days, alignment with her purpose and unshakable faith - and her new mission is to share this blueprint with as many professionals as possible so that they can curate their very own Good Life.
