Chandan Mehta is an Indian Actor/Director/Producer. He was born in Lakhanpur village of Munger district of Bihar. He took his early education from his grandfather Late Shri Jagdish Guruji. His father Late Shri Jawahar Mandal was a folk song singer and playwright who wrote about 13 plays and more than 200 folk songs.
Chandan Mehta was very much influenced by his father, who considers him the first Guru. Chandan Mehta was fond of literature since childhood, and he was greatly influenced by the novels, stories, and poems written by Munshi Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, and Maithil Kokil Mahakavi Vidyapati. Due to his interest in film and drama, he started working with the Indian Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA) in 1992.
During this, he went to different corners of India and participated in the theatrical competition. It is said that during this time he met the big stars of the film world, Anjan Srivastava, Raj Babbar, and Shabana Azmi. Chandan Mehta came to Delhi and entered the advertising industry and during this time he taught professional cinematography. Joined many workshops run by FTII for direction and filmmaking.
In the context of filmmaking, they believe that choosing the right team is very important for good filmmaking and always being in touch with seniors affects its quality. So far, he has played the role of an artist, director, and producer for many films. Mr. Mehta, influenced by the Dogme 95 Manifesto of Danish directors Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg, started the Indogma film festival in India in 2018. Being a film festival director, he has deep connections with big directors, writers, singers, actors, and critics of the country and abroad. The purpose of his life is to cooperate with the people associated with the field of art and through the film, to reach the issues related to the art, culture, and society of India to the audience.
