Mayhem on the Walking With Dinosaurs Red Carpet!

  • kidspickflicks
What happens when a dinosaur stomps his way onto the red carpet? That's exactly what happened during our interviews with Walking with Dinosaurs 3D stars John Leguizamo, Tiya Sircar and Skyler Stone. John handles it pretty well, but Skyler...as the movie says, he might have "feared" in his pants he was so startled! What's so funny is that we Asked them what they would do if they ran into a dinosaur in real life...see if they really reacted like they said they would. Also, check out the dino mayhem and hear some great dino roars in our Walking with Dinosaurs  red carpet interviews!

Film Review: Even Kids Might Run from ‘Walking with Dinosaurs 3D’

Chicago – “Walking with Dinosaurs” depicts the magnificent titular creatures in stunning realism and 3D vision, and then proceeds to give them line readings with the equivalent sophistication of Archie comics. This adds up to an educational film with a long, dull journey ahead.

Rating: 2.5/5.0

This is geared towards the kiddies, with a flight of fancy that becomes teeth-gnashingly stupid for their adult companions. Its heart is in the right place, as an annoying bird guides the audience through the Cretaceous Era by properly naming all of the species, yet the idea that the production had to “entertain” its young audience with a silly Dino-Shakespearian fight for power – softened for the youthful sensibility – just wasn’t compelling. The kid fidget factor, unless the moppet is a junior scientist, might top out at eleven.

The film starts out with a live action segment, as Uncle Zack (Karl Urban, using his Dr. McCoy

Walking with Dinosaurs 3D Review

  • HeyUGuys
Roughly a year ago we were treated to an enticing teaser trailer for Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale’s Walking with Dinosaurs 3D; a spin-off from the popular BBC television series. The trailer gave off the impression we’d be in for a mature, grown-up nature documentary of sorts, with a David Attenborough style of narration playing over the top. However regrettably Walking with Dinosaurs offers no such thing, instead adding needless human voices to the dinosaurs and having them interact through speech, as this potentially exhilarating tale has become far too child-friendly, suffering greatly a result.

Narrated by Alex (John Leguizamo), an Alexornis bird, we delve into the life of Patchi (Justin Long), a young Pachyrinosaurus, who gets separated from his family and has to venture through the wild and dangerous dinosaur kingdom, hoping to one day emulate his father, the Alpha male of their herd, who dies courageously in battle.

Walking with Dinosaurs The 3D Movie review: Steven Spielberg can rest easy

Walking with Dinosaurs The 3D Movie review: Steven Spielberg can rest easy
Directors: Barry Cook, Neil Nightingale; Screenwriters: John Collee; Starring: Charlie Rowe, Karl Urban, Angourie Rice, John Leguizamo, Justin Long; Running time: 87 mins; Certificate: U

Steven Spielberg can rest easy. Walking with Dinosaurs is no match for the muscle of the Jurassic Park franchise (the fourth due out in 2015), but that isn't a comment on the effects - which are stunning. It's the lack of a compelling story that means it's a bit of a trudge at times; more like a live museum experience than a fully developed film.

Given that 'The 3D Movie' is based on the BBC documentary series Walking with Dinosaurs the educational slant isn't surprising. Actually, it's quite refreshing to see animation that reflects the real world - or at least a recognisable version of it - where the dinos blend seamlessly against epic real-life Alaskan backdrops (as well as some New Zealand locations).

There is a good deal of Disneyfication though.

Walking With Dinosaurs red carpet feature

Walking With Dinosaurs and the forces behind Tim Hill, Justin Long, John Leguizamo, Skyler Stone. Photo: Anne-Katrin Titze

Sunday morning, invited by Twentieth Century Fox films to the red carpet at Cinema 1, 2, 3, on Manhattan's Upper East Side, I walked with dinosaur lovers big and small to celebrate the premiere screening of Walking With Dinosaurs (directed by Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale with Tim Hill as Executive Producer). Three longtime dinosaur aficionados, John Leguizamo, Justin Long and Skyler Stone, who give their voices to the photorealistic prehistoric 3-D adventurers, told me about their very first dino-encounters.

Produced by BBC Earth, the animated feature using the latest technology takes us back 70 million years. We follow the fate of Patchi, a Pachyrhinosaurus with a whistling hole in his ear and a great deal of courage, voiced by Justin Long, as his herd migrates through what is now Alaska. Together with his older brother

Thoughts on... Hostel: Part III (2011)

Hostel: Part III, 2011.

Directed by Scott Spiegel.

Starring Kip Pardue, Brian Hallisay, John Hensley, Sarah Habel, Skyler Stone, Zulay Henao and Thomas Kretschmann.

Synopsis:

During a bachelor party in Las Vegas, four friends are invited to a private party way off the strip where they become the subjects of a perverse game of high stakes gambling.

The Hostel series isn't one of the most lucrative out there but has had moderate success. The original Hostel was a fairly decent thriller despite it being part of the "torture porn" genre and Hostel: Part II was essentially the same movie, only not as good and with girls as the leads. Now we get Hostel: Part III, the only one in the series to not get a theatrical release. How well does it hold up compared to the first two?

Scott (Brian Halisay), Carter (Kip Pardue), Justin (John Hensley) and Mike (Skyler Stone

Watch and Discuss: Does This Chick-fil-a Kiss Stunt Help Or Hurt?

As the flare up over that chicken place finally starts to wind down, we're (thankfully) going to be mentioning it less and less. But this video is interesting, and we'd like to get your take on it.

Actor Skyler Stone has had steady work in Hollywood for over a decade, and had a memorable couple of guest appearances on Raising Hope (in fact, we made him an honorary Furry Friday Briefs Guy a few months back:

In the video below, Skyler enlists a pal (both are straight, as you'll hear repeatedly) to join in the kiss protest, and it turns into a grope fest at the take-out window, complete with hoots and hollers by the crowd.

The response to the vid has been varied, to say the least. Some people love it, and applaud the guys for being allies, while at the other end, some people feel that it makes a mockery of the situation,

Kim Kardashian Flour Bombed For Prank On TV

HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively a prankster by the name of Skyler Stone set up the flour bomb for Kim Kardashian in Los Angeles March 22. Do you think it's funny or wrong? When Kim Kardashian walked the red carpet for an event at The London hotel in West Hollywood last night, she probably wasn't expecting to film an appearance for a show other than her own. We can exclusively reveal Skyler Stone -- a con artist who once had his own show, Con, on Comedy Central -- had a woman flour bomb Kim, 31, as she was walking the red carpet at an event. We can tell you exclusively it was filmed for a future prank show that will be on TV. Skyler tweeted after the incident, writing, "Ms Kardashian, I'm really sorry, I was trying to bake a cake in the lobby of The London & I dont know what happened.

Blu-ray Review: Hostel Part III

Hostel: Part III

Stars: Kip Pardue, Brian Hallisay, John Hensley, Sarah Habel, Skyler Stone, Zulay Henao, Thomas Kretschmann | Written by Michael D. Weiss | Directed by Scott Speigel

High stakes gambling takes on a whole new meaning as Hostel Part III, the third film in the Hostel franchise, takes the story from the wilds of the Eastern block to the gambling capital of the world – Las Vegas, as four friends in town for a bachelor party are invited to a private soiree by a pair of sexy strippers. Only the party isn’t quite what the four expected as they’re subjected to a perverse game of torture, where members of Hostel’s infamous “Elite Hunting Club” put on a sadistic show for those wanting a little more “thrill” to their gambling.

The Hostel franchise has always been one to divide audiences – there are those that relish in the gore and
