Thibault Becquaert, also known as Thibault Théodore (T.T.), is a Belgian director, producer and cinematographer based in Montreal, Canada. He founded Brussels production company Madeye in 2016, when he was 16 years old and has worked for several short and feature films.
Thibault grew up in the center of Brussels. After attending the renowned Athénée Robert Catteau secondary school, he studied political science at Saint-Louis University, Brussels (UCLouvain). He later attended Åbo Akademi and the University of Turku in Finland, and the cinema departments of the universities of Montréal, Liège, and Stockholm.
From a French father and a Dutch mother, Thibault was raised in English, French and Dutch and is fluent in all three languages, in all of which he followed his university education.
In 2015, Thibault directed the short-film Pinda, based on his own teddy-bear. Since, he has directed and produced several projects for theaters, television and the web. In 2016, he was a jury member of the Brussels Short Film Festival (BSFF). His cinematographic career started during the summer of 2018 as a location manager for Fabrice Du Welz's 'Adoration' (2019). He later joined the cinema studies department of the Université de Montreal, Québec as a film scholar and PhD candidate.
