The Grand Slam Of Darts

7pm, Sky Sports 1

The two rival professional darts organisations come to Wolverhampton for this annual celebration of loud shirts and equally outlandish skill. It's a Pdc event but the best players from the rival Bdo competition can take part, although they haven't had much luck: since the tournament began in 2007, a Pdc player has won every year, with Phil Taylor the most frequent victor. Raymond van Barneveld was triumphant last time, and Taylor being Taylor, he'll be out to reclaim his crown this year. Lanre Bakare

McDonald's looks to 'Mad Men' for inspiration on new uniforms

  • Pop2it
How about a side of style with that Big Mac? That's what McDonald's U.K. patrons will be getting as the fast food retailer rolls out new uniforms inspired -- at least in part -- by "Mad Men" and the mod '60s aesthetic.

The uniforms were rolled out in the U.K. ahead of July's Summer Olympics Games, reports the Telegraph. McDonald's got a little help from Red or Dead fashion designer Wayne Hemingway who said the uniforms "hark back to a day of really classy air travel."

There's just a little bit of 'Mad Men,'" adds Hemingway.

The food prep crew will wear burger-inspired uniforms: Mustard yellow polo shirts for men and "gherkin green" for women. Customer care assistants (aka cashiers) will wear checked shirts with dark green pants or skirts. Managers will be a little more formal with black skinny ties for men and scarves and pencil skirts for women.

Link Love: Walk Down The Isle In Topshop, McDonald's Uniforms Are Inspired By 'Mad Men'

Six months ago, Louis Vuitton sued The Hangover 2 over Zach Galifianakis' line, "Careful, that is a Louis Vuitton," because it could cause "consumer confusion" since the bag was obviously fake. No worries though, a judge ruled against Lv earlier this week calling the allegations “not plausible” or “particularly compelling." Ha. I'm glad the judge realizes that "consumer confusion" isn't a real thing because, hello, if you're paying $30 for a designer handbag off of the street it's clearly not real. [Fashionista]

Here comes the bride. All dressed in… Topshop? The fashion retailer is debuted the Richard Nicoll collaboration "Tie the Knot," a bridal collection, in Dazed & Confused today. The dresses feature pastel shades in short above-the-knee hemlines, designed to be worn again after the big day. Are we supposed to save them for our daughters to wear too? [Dazed]

Amy Winehouse, Jk Rowling, Noel Gallagher, Mick Jagger and the Monty Python foot to feature in update of 1967 original

British pop artist Sir Peter Blake has taken inspiration from his most famous artwork – the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club album cover – to celebrate the British cultural figures he most admires as he marks his 80th birthday.

Twiggy, Amy Winehouse, Grayson Perry, Jk Rowling and even Monty Python's emblematic foot all feature in a reworked version of the 1967 cover created for his birthday celebrations.

Blake, often called the godfather of the British pop art scene, said: "I've chosen people I admire, great people and some who are dear friends.

"I had a very long list of people who I wanted to go in but couldn't fit everyone in – I think that shows how strong British culture and its legacy of the last six decades is."

Singer Noel Gallagher, formerly of Oasis,

Enid, Doctor Who and The Art on Your Wall with Sue Perkins | TV reviews

Enid Blyton was the mother from hell, even when she looked like Helena Bonham Carter, writes Phil Hogan

BBC4 has made an excellent name for itself over the years for its boundless variety of biopics revealing the colourful mental torments of public figures such as Frankie Howerd and Fanny Cradock and Hughie Green, and poor Mrs Beeton – once admired for her five ways with a sheep's head and now famous for having caught syphilis from Mr Beeton.

So even if you were the sort of diehard Secret Seven fanatic who hadn't noticed that Enid Blyton's reputation as an all-round good egg had been getting a stiff beating over the past 40 years, the appearance of Enid (BBC4)in the schedules should have rung alarm bells. We didn't have to wait long before she was busy being jolly horrid – threatening her driver with the sack for having a cold and looking

A temple to Athena

The Wings of Love, Doisneau's The Kiss, Vettriano's Singing Butler… These prints have taken pride of place in millions of homes since the 70s. So what explains their enduring appeal? Miranda Sawyer celebrates the art that Britain took to its heart

Do you collect art? Of course you do. Not the bank-busting originals, the investment pieces bartered by hedge-fund analysts and arms dealers, secured by museums for the enlightenment of the nation. I mean the pictures you put on your wall to fill the space above the mantelpiece, to tone in with the sofa, to cover the stain and your first three attempts at drilling a hole to hang the thing up in the first place. Your art: the pictures and posters and objects that mean something to you, demonstrate your allegiances, history, hopes and taste, whether Sarah Beeny-approved or not.

It sticks to you, that kind of art,
