Asia Bonetto
A liaison of vision and passion, Asia Bonetto is an Independent Film Producer who has been accentuating the screen viewing experience since 2017. To date, Asia features an extensive reputation for delivering powerful storylines that convey deeper meaning beyond the scripts themselves - as featured in her latest productions 'How it Goes' and 'The Ones Left Behind: The Plight of Single Mothers in Japan' Starring Miharu Chiba. In addition, Asia is passionate about not just propelling entertainment initiatives forward, but doing so while truly connecting, captivating and inspiring viewers across the national and international scales.
Originally from a small town in Northern Italy, Asia harbored a passion for cinema at a very young age upon watching the classic film 'Gone With the Wind.' From there, she went on to watch countless genre-diverse films, developing a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling. With this as her base, it became the catalyst for Asia to move to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue her career in filmmaking. Initially, Asia began studying Film at Santa Monica College in 2017. During this tenure, Asia gained extensive hands-on experience and the opportunity to both work and learn alongside apex legends of the industry. In 2019, Asia was honorably selected to attend Cinemadamare, an exclusive 15-week filmmaking program based in Italy, where she produced weekly short films alongside a dynamic team. After graduating with three Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts, Film Production, and Film Studies, Asia continued her education at Loyola Marymount University, subsequently earning her Bachelor's Degree in Film and Television - making her an alumna of some of the top film institutions in the world.
Since then, Asia has produced a wide range of projects, including the critically acclaimed short film 'Broken Layers' in 2021, which explores the human toll of war through the eyes of a half-Latina, half-Arab U.S. Marine veteran. A sensational display of cinematography laced with a grandeur undertone, Asia acted as the Co-Producer, Casting Director, and Assistant Director and helped shape 'Broken Layers' to become an award-winning film recognized worldwide. Other noteworthy projects include 'L'ora Blu', the Sci-Fi short 'Alive', and 'Slim Chances', displaying the devastating realities of living with an eating disorder. Each of these productions showcases Asia's natural ability to tell powerful stories through the medium of film, providing audiences with a deep understanding and appreciation of the human experience.
Today, Asia has become a staple name in entertainment, fundamentally supporting the various demands for community, social enhancement, and large-scale economic development. Some of her more recent work includes writing and directing two shorts and supporting teams in various stages of the production pipeline. That said, Asia's devotion, perseverance, and modeling of healthy reform in media representation have not gone unnoticed. In 2021, Asia won the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival for the production of 'Broken Layers' and is on a trajectory to receive more with her international reach. Overall, Asia's approaches are consistently evolving as the industry does, but her foundation as a Producer has always remained the same: to challenge the status quo in entertainment and create cinematic experiences worth remembering.
Asia currently resides in Los Angeles, but will forever refer to Italy as home.
