Shankar Bardhan is a well noted Indian cinematographer known for his work on films such as Yeshwant (1997), Ek Tha Raja (1996), Insaaf: The Final Justice (1997), Game (1993). He also collaborated with eminent directors on various documentaries ,TV serials and ad films. He received the award for best Cinematography for his work in a Marathi film Mukta (1994) directed by Jabbar Patel and was nominated for the best cameraman in Yeshwant directed by Anil Matoo.
Shankar Bardhan was born in Agartala, Tripura. He did his diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh after completing his schooling from West Bengal Board. Initially he worked at Gannon Dunkerley in Bombay. Having a keen interest in photography, he wished to join a film school but did not have the means to attend one.
He worked and collaborated with well-known cinematographers like Ashok Mehta, Ishan Arya and Govind Nihalani.
