Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 7 Review: Cucaracha/K'uruch

Welcome to the Adelita show!

After multiple episodes of me questioning why Adelita is the way she is, we finally got an answer on Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 7. It felt like the show went zero to a hundred real quick with Adelita. She went from rarely being featured to having an entire episode revolve around her.

That was a significant risk for Mayans M.C. to take. Adelita wasn't a character many M.C. fans have been able to get invested in. So at first the idea of her being the primary focus of the entire episode had me worried.

Luckily, Carla Baratta stepped up her game and delivered an incredible performance on "Cucaracha/K'uruch." Adelita was no longer just the cold-hearted leader of a rebellion. She was a very damaged woman who has pretty much spent her entire life thinking her father was betrayed by Felipe.

Felipe finally

10 Things You Didn’t Know about Danny Pino

Danny Pino is another actor that can turn on the charm when he wants and is also the kind of guy that a lot of people wonder about when it’s seen that he’s not dominating the screen as he probably could. There are many reasons why this could be so but most among them seem to point to the fact that while he’s good on the small screen there’s not a lot of development yet on the big screen that says he can take over a movie on his own. There are those that are destined to be great on

Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 6 Review: Gato/Mis

  • TVfanatic
A mixed bag of emotions.

That's what I was left feeling after watching Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 6. There were times when I was on the edge of my seat, desperate to see what would come next. Then there were times when I had difficulty keeping my eyes open.

Mayans M.C. once again struggled to remain consistent, a fault the show has had since it premiered.

Let's start with the good or should I say the great because Danny Pino, also known as Miguel Galindo, absolutely killed it in "Gato/Mis," and for the first time, I don't mean that literally.

Pino is always a highlight in each episode, but no one could deny the brilliance of his performance. No one should be feeling sympathy for a drug cartel leader, but somehow Pino manages to make it easy to fall in love with him.

The smile on his face when

Mayans M.C. exclusive: Tony Plana talks Devante, the Galindo Cartel and where the show will go

Actor Tony Plana is quickly becoming the key chess piece and player to watch closely in FX’s Mayans M.C.. Quiet, lethal and enmeshed firmly with the Galindo Cartel, his Devante Cano is a villain like no other. Devante is dressed sharply, not in a biker’s cut, but a three-piece suit and armed, but not with traditional weapons. He possesses a calculating Machiavellian mind as he guides Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) through the treacherous waters of drug deals, above all else trying to protect the Galindo’s place as an upper echelon family business. In real life Plana is a lucky kid […]

Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 2 Review: Escorpion/Dzec

  • TVfanatic
Oh, baby! The rebels are probably going to regret that decision.

On Mayans M.C. Season 1 Episode 2 Emily's baby has been kidnapped by the rebels, leaving behind a desperate and dangerous Miguel. Also, Emily and Ez met for the first time in eight years, and the sexual tension was off the charts.

It seems likely they will eventually reunite, but what it could mean for the story only came to light with the sparks flying between them in the present. Request for Kurt Sutter: More scenes with Emily and Ez. Please!

Emily: Miguel promised there would be no retaliation but then something happened. Something changed and now no one will even look me in the eye. I'm so sorry to put this on you Ez. I don't know who else to ask. If anything happens will you tell me?

Ez: It already has. Retaliation. Two innocents burned to death,

'Mayans Mc,' 'Sons of Anarchy' and a History of Violence

[This story contains spoilers for season one, episode two of FX's Mayans Mc, "Escorpion/Dzec," as well as major spoilers from Kurt Sutter's Sons of Anarchy.]

If the death-by-dismemberment featured in the series premiere wasn't enough to indicate the level of violence at play in Mayans Mc, then the second episode of FX's biker drama sure did the trick.

Bloodshed and brutality were cornerstones of the series' second installment, "Escorpion/Dzec," by way of a few different father-son dynamics. In one corner, there's Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino), the vicious crime lord whose infant son was abducted ...

Mayans M.C. Review – Kurt Sutter Returns To A Setting He Can Manage

Heading into Mayans M.C., which is something of a sequel/spin-off hybrid, the only question that really matters is whether or not we’re heading into something that actually delivers on the treatment and world-building of Sons of Anarchy. With several years, and The Bastard Executioner, between Kurt Sutter‘s somewhat questionable end to that show and now, a new run with a motorcycle club might go anywhere. Luckily, if the first two episodes are a true indication, Sutter has taken the time to reevaluate the structure, pacing, and plot development in his writing, which means the show kicks off almost as though it had been written at the same time as the third season of SoA, but with a little more experience showing through. Just as important, Sutter built off one of SoA‘s most important devices, having a ton of balls in the air at once. As
