Collier Young was born on August 19, 1908 in Asheville, North Carolina, USA as Collier Hudson Young. He was a writer and producer, known for One Step Beyond (1959), The Hitch-Hiker (1953) and The Bigamist (1953). He was married to Marjory Ann Marsh, Joan Fontaine, Ida Lupino and Ruth Valerie Edmonds. He died on December 25, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Formed own production company by agreement with Howard Hughes in 1948, turning out low-budget features. Best known as the creator of the TV series Ironside (1967) starring Raymond Burr.
