Nickelodeon’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Go Virtual at Comic-Con

Nickelodeon has big plans to introduce its reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise during Comic-Con with a virtual-reality experience that will put journalists and some lucky superfans directly into the show’s animated universe to chat live with two of the Turtles, Donatello and Michelangelo.

The “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Live” experience, set for Friday, July 20, is the latest project from Nickelodeon’s cutting-edge Entertainment Lab, which launched last year to experiment with new and emerging technologies and broaden entertainment options for Nick’s audiences.

Nickelodeon Brings ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ to Comic-Con

Nickelodeon will present panels for “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Invader Zim” at Comic-Con this summer in San Diego.

The “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” panel will take place Thursday, July 19 in room 6A at the San Diego Convention Center. Featured on the panel for the new series will be the show’s voice cast — Omar Miller as Raph, Ben Schwartz as Leo, Josh Brener as Donnie, Brandon Mychal Smith as Mikey, Kat Graham as April O’Neil, and Eric Bauza as Splinter. Also appearing will be co-executive producers Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, and voice director Rob Paulsen.

Country Stars Hold Dance Party To End Alz To Benefit the Alzheimer's Association

The second annual Dance Party to End Alz was held on Sunday, June 3 at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon.

Hosted by Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Blair Garner, the sold-out event raised more than $340,000 for Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs.

Country stars performed their favorite hits from the ‘80s while dressed in colorful and classic fashion from that decade. The Voice” season 13 winner Chloe Kohanski returned to the show on Tuesday and sang her new single “Come This Far” just minutes before it was revealed that Brynn Cartelli had won season 14. While Cartelli was coached by rookie Kelly Clarkson, Kohanski was the sixth champion for Blake Shelton, who has been with the show since the start.

Kohanski won the season 13 title on Dec. 19 after delivering a soaring performance of her original song “Wish I Didn’t Love You” as well as a cover of the 1980s hit “Bette Davis Eyes” and a duet with Shelton on “You Got It.” However, the single of her new tune only made it to No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The week-long residency will include hands-on directing experience at the Skye Space Studio.

Mentors including director Kevin Macdonald, producer Andrew Macdonald, and The Inbetweeners actor Joe Thomas will take part in The Young Films Foundation’s first Skye residency programme (May 19-25).

Other experts coming to Skye include producers Robyn Slovo, Margaret Matheson, David Moore and Georgina Lowe, director Vítor Gonçalves; writers Olivia Hetreed and Charlie Martin, and producer and drama commissioner John Yorke.

In our overnight poll, she has the support of 55% of viewers while Maddie Poppe nets 32% of the total tally and Caleb Lee Hutchinson is last with an unlucky 13%. At the end of the May 13 episode of “American Idol,” two of the Top 5 will be eliminated. That will leave just three artists still in contention for the season 16 title. According to viewers’ predictions, the Top 3 finalists will be Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner and Maddie Poppe. As of this writing, Barrett is far out front with a whopping 35% of the total tally while Foehner is a solid second at 22%.

However, Poppe is not assured of her place in the final. While she has 19% of the vote so far, Michael J. Woodard is right behind at 16%. The one contestant in the Top 5 who appears to be out of the running is Caleb Lee Hutchinson who registers a mere 8% to date.

Caleb Lee Hutchinson on ‘American Idol’: Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ is his best song on season 16 so far

Caleb Lee Hutchinson has gotten to the top 5 on the ABC revival of “American Idol” based on his eight performances to date beginning with his rendition of “I Was Wrong” by Chris Stapleton back on April 2. However, it is the most recent song that he sung, Prince‘s “When Doves Cry,” that topped our poll. His performance of this classic track on the May 6 show racked up a whopping 33% of viewers’ votes. By comparison, “I Was Wrong” merited a mere 4%.

‘American Idol’ Top 7 power rankings: Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner are favorites to win season 16

Heading into the May 6 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol,” we asked you which of the Top 7 would be lucky enough to win season 16. More than half of viewers cast their ballots for one of the two remaining contestants: Gabby Barrett got a whopping 30% of the total vote while Cade Foehner registered 21%.

Of the other five artists still in contention, three — Maddie Poppe, Catie Turner and Michael J. Woodard — earned double digit support. Poppe is at 12%, Turner has 13% and Woodard is fifth with 11% of the total tally. Jurnee Siani managed just 7% while Caleb Lee Hutchinson is last at 6%.
