Steve Wright is a senior visual effects veteran with over 20 years experience creating digital effects for over 70 feature films as well as 70 broadcast television commercials. He started his digital entertainment career at Atari designing video games like Pele's Championship Soccer and Sesame Street games for the Children's Television Workshop. Steve later became the Director of Home Video Game Development and was responsible for developing a video game rapid prototyping system that was so powerful that he was able to use it to create the video game animation sequence for Superman III in a matter of weeks instead of the usual 6-12 months time to meet the Warner Bros. studio schedule.
After a stint with Sega-Paramount's arcade division, he joined Robert Abel and Associates, one of the founders of CGI, then had his own digital effects studio called Sidley Wright & Associates in Hollywood for seven years. When Cinesite Hollywood opened its feature film scanning and VFX facility, Steve joined as a senior compositor and was promoted to the 2D Technical Director for visual effects and Digital Intermediate. After leaving Cinesite, Steve began doing visual effects production and feature film titling work under his own banners, Steve Wright Digital FX and TitleWright. He has published two popular books on compositing both available on Amazon called, "Digital Compositing for Film and Video" and "Compositing Visual Effects: Essentials for the Aspiring Artist" both of which are Focal Press imprints.
Steve has been a Master Trainer as well as a certified Foundry Nuke Trainer since 2005 and has been teaching the art and science of visual effects compositing and Nuke worldwide to the next generation of artists.
