Stephen Amell Teases A Returning Fan Favorite For Arrow Season 7

With Arrow set to return from its summer vacation in a matter of hours, viewers should know that Oliver Queen will run into a few old friends while in prison. To be more specific, Vinnie Jones, Michael Jai White and Cody Rhodes will each reprise their respective roles of Danny Brickwell, Bronze Tiger and Derek Sampson.

Now, from the sound of it, yet another familiar face is taking up residence at Slabside, but we’re going to have to wait to find out exactly who it is. While recently speaking with ComicBook.com, lead actor Stephen Amell first shed light on what’s to come by discussing how Ollie’s in a much different place when we join him:

“After the premiere, we really isolate Oliver. He goes a long time without interacting with really any familiar face. I have enjoyed the couple of visitors that I’ve had. I

The upgrade was first noted by Green Arrow TV.

After tormenting Oliver and his loved ones for much of Season 6, Diaz was nearly nabbed during a season-ending skirmish, but Laurel/Black Siren’s well-intended attempt to offer an assist instead (ugh) allowed the crime boss to slip away.

Mel Gibson made a surprise appearance Tuesday night at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood for the American premiere of Dragged Across Concrete, the brutal heist movie from writer-director S. Craig Zahler that stars Gibson and Vince Vaughn as compromised cops planning a score of their own.

A subdued and bearded Gibson joined Vaughn and fellow cast members Tory Kittles, Michael Jai White and Fred Melamed and Zahler (Brawl in Cell Block 99) for a lengthy post-screening stage interview. When the Oscar-winning firebrand figure mentioned his just-announced plan to direct a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s The Wild Bunch, he got an enthusiastic response from the crowd of genre fans.

“This film is related, it’s in that Peckinpah realm,” Gibson said about Dragged Across Concrete, which made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival but screened Tuesday night as the finale-night programming for this year’s Beyond Fest. The

Todd McFarlane redesigning Spawn for the big screen reboot

As Todd McFarlane continues with pre-production on his big screen reboot of Spawn, the creator has been chatting to Comic Book about redesigning the comic book character’s classic look for his second feature film appearance.

“Does Spawn have a dark mask and his body dark and then does he have a cape in the comic books? Yes, yes, yes. Will he have all of that in the movie? Yes, yes, yes,” states McFarlane. “So it’s not like I’m going to give him wings instead of a cape and I’m not going to give him no mask instead of a mask. There’s no going to be any of that. It just won’t be exactly what a hardcore fan is used to. But I’m hoping that people who just go and are familiar with Spawn will say, ‘Yeah, it’s in the box.’ And people

Venice Film Review: Mel Gibson in ‘Dragged Across Concrete’

Venice Film Review: Mel Gibson in ‘Dragged Across Concrete’
If you’re out to criticize “Dragged Across Concrete,” the latest supersized exploitation opus from writer-director S. Craig Zahler, on charges of gratuitously provocative violence, misogyny, racial discourse or the mere presence of right-wing firebrand Mel Gibson in the lead, know that the film issues a preemptive retaliation in its own script. “I don’t politick and I don’t change with the times,” spits Gibson’s bent, brusque cop Ridgeman, after being disciplined for using excessive force on a perp. “And it turns out that sh-t’s more important than good, honest work.” Thirty years on from the bad-cop hijinks of “Lethal Weapon,” Gibson’s now the one who’s too old for said sh-t, though Ridgeman and Murtaugh, Danny Glover’s weary detective from that 1987 smash, would probably define the grind of their job very differently.

Zahler’s film places a lot of these wink-wink reactionary assertions in

Vince Vaughn On Reteam With Mel Gibson In ‘Dragged Across Concrete’ – Venice
Vince Vaughn is back at the Venice Film Festival this year with a second-in-a-row starring role in a gritty crime thriller by Bone Tomahawk writer/director S. Craig Zahler. Last year, they were here for Brawl In Cell Block 99 and today will present Dragged Across Concrete out of competition. The film marks another reteam, this one with Mel Gibson who also stars and who previously directed Vaughn in 2016’s triumphant Hacksaw Ridge, which too made its debut on the Lido.

Dragged Across Concrete was well-received at its press screenings this morning and at an afternoon press conference. It pairs Vaughn and Gibson as cop partners who’ve put away enough criminals to fill two wings of a state penitentiary but don’t play enough politics to be rewarded on the job. When they’re suspended after video of an excessively forceful arrest turns up on the 7 o’clock news,

‘Walking Dead’ Effects Specialist Greg Nicotero Joins ‘Spawn’ Movie
