Harry Potter: 20 Things Ron And Hermione Did After Deathly Hallows

Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are as much a part of the Harry Potter series as the Chosen One himself. Introduced from the beginning and standing by Harry's side for years, Hermione and Ron became richly developed and beloved characters. J.K. Rowling's beautiful writing for the characters was furthered by the perfect on-screen performances from Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. On the page and on the screen, fans got to watch their friendship grow into romance and see them mature from awkward first-years into young adults risking everything to save the world.

The Deathly Hallows epilogue made it well-known that they married and had children named Rose and Hugo Weasley. They remained close with Harry and Ginny, all four of them reuniting on Platform 9 3/4 to see their children off to Hogwarts.

The cherished nature of Hermione and Ron and the Harry Potter series as a whole means their story doesn't end there,

Why Hollywood Won’t Cast This Harry Potter Actor Anymore

Almost everyone around loves the Harry Potter series, and has a soft spot for the actors that brought it to the big screen. If You Don't Recognize This Avengers: Infinity War Character, What Are You Even Doing?

With lots of fan-favorite characters returning for the ultimate superhero mashup, Avengers: Infinity War, people were surprised (and thrilled) to see how much screen time a certain, er, evil extraterrestrial received. Now, fans and newbies to the Marvel universe are wondering why the actress underneath the special effects looks so damn familiar - well, as familiar as one can look as someone from a different species, anyway. Daughter of Thanos, Nebula, is portrayed by Scottish actress Karen Gillan.

Gillan got her start as Amy Pond in the famous long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who. Before she made a name for herself in the superhero world, she scored her first big movie role as Jane Lockhard in the not-totally-cheesy rom-com Not Another Happy Ending. Then, of course, she gave her first performance as the villainous alien Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy before reprising her role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

‘Westworld’s’ Shannon Woodward to Produce Series Based on Nxivm Sex Cult
Annapurna Television is developing a scripted series inspired by the alleged sex cult NXIVM, with “Westworld” actress Shannon Woodward attached to executive produce.

The potential series is based on the New York Times report about the group published last year. The report, authored by Barry Meier, featured interviews with multiple women who said the purported self-help group, led by Keith Raniere, recruited women to serve as “slaves” and branded them with Raniere’s initials.

No writer is attached yet, but Woodward will executive produce along with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and Susan Goldberg of Annapurna.

The group has come under renewed interest in recent weeks, after Raniere was arrested in Mexico last month on charges of sex trafficking. “Smallville” star Allison Mack, who was identified as Raniere’s top lieutenant in the Times report, was arrested last week.

‘Smallville’ Star Allison Mack Reached Out to Emma Watson About Alleged Sex Cult

‘Smallville’ Star Allison Mack Reached Out to Emma Watson About Alleged Sex Cult
Allison Mack, an actress best known for playing Chloe Sullivan on the WB series “Smallville,” was arrested earlier this month for her alleged role in a sex cult called Nxivm. Mack was reportedly a “recruiter” for the cult’s founder, Keith Raniere. While the actress has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, People has dug up some evidence in the form of numerous tweets Mack sent “Harry Potter” favorite Emma Watson.

Over several months in 2016, Mack attempted to contact Watson using Twitter. The “Smallville” actress told Watson on January 24, 2016 that she was “involved in an amazing women’s movement” and thought Watson might be interested in learning more about it. Mack followed up on February 19, 2016 by saying she was a participant in a “unique human development and women’s movement.”

“As a fellow actress I can relate so well to your vision and what you want to see in the world,

Allison Mack Out on Bail In Nxivm Case, Under House Arrest

Allison Mack Out on Bail In Nxivm Case, Under House Arrest
Actress Allison Mack was released from federal custody Tuesday on $5 million bail and placed under house arrest, the Associated Press reports.

Mack, best known for her long-running role on The CW’s “Smallville,” was arrested Friday for her involvement in the organization Nxivm, which authorities say is a sex cult. A federal judge in Brooklyn agreed to release Mack to her parents in California, where she will decide whether or not to strike a deal with federal prosecutors

Mack is accused of recruiting women into the organization, and of “directly or implicitly” requiring these women to have sex with Nxivm founder Keith Raniere, according to U.S. attorney Richard P. Donoghue. She has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking, and if convicted, she faces 15 years to life in prison.

In March, Raniere was arrested in Mexico, where he fled after the publication last fall of a New York Times report about Nxivm practices like branding women. Federal authorities say Raniere and Mack created a secret society within Nxivm in 2015 called “Dos,” which “operated with levels of women ‘slaves’ headed by ‘masters,'” and that some of the Dos slaves became masters who “directly or implicitly required the slaves to have sex with Raniere.”

Raniere has since been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and conspiracy to commit forced labor.

Mack starred on “Smallville,” from 2000 to 20011, where she played a young Superman’s best friend.

Allison Mack Was Trying Super Hard To Get Emma Watson In Her Sex Cult

Allison Mack Was Trying Super Hard To Get Emma Watson In Her Sex Cult
Former Smallville and Wilfred actress Allison Mack made headlines last week when she was arrested for her involvement in the sex cult Nxivm. In the time sense, people have been scouring the actresses Twitter to find evidence she was actively recruiting others in the cult, and it turns out she was pushing for Harry Potter actress Emma Watson to join pretty hard (via Uproxx):

.@EmWatson I'm a fellow actress like yourself & involved in an amazing women's movement I think you'd dig. I'd love to chat if you're open.

— Allison Mack (@allisonmack) January 24, 2016

Watson doesn't appear to have responded, which apparently wasn't acceptable to Mack or her cohort in this whole thing Keith Raniere. Mack tweeted Watson on two other separate occasions after the alleged incident, heavily encouraging her to join the cult:

.@EmWatson well to your vision and what you want to see in the world. I think we could work together.

Allison Mack Pitched Emma Watson, Kelly Clarkson to Join Nxivm Group Accused of Sex Trafficking

Allison Mack Pitched Emma Watson, Kelly Clarkson to Join Nxivm Group Accused of Sex Trafficking
Actress Allison Mack appears to have tried to recruit actress Emma Watson and “The Voice” judge Kelly Clarkson into a self-help group authorities say is a sex cult, according to several tweets first unearthed by Business Insider.

Mack, best known for the superhero TV series “Smallville,” was arrested Friday for her involvement in the organization Nxivm. Her indictment follows that of Nxivm founder Keith Raniere, who was arrested in Mexico last month and has been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and conspiracy to commit forced labor.

In a statement Friday, U.S. attorney Richard P. Donoghue said that Mack recruited women for Raniere, and that the women were “exploited, both sexually and for their labor.” He said Mack, who was arrested in Brooklyn, New York, is accused of “directly or implicitly” requiring women “to engage in sexual activity with Raniere. In exchange for this, Mack received financial and other benefits from Raniere.”

In 2016, she made several attempts to reach out to Watson on Twitter. “I’m a fellow actress like yourself & involved in an amazing women’s movement I think you’d dig,” Mack tweeted the “Harry Potter” and “Beauty and the Beast” star in January 2016. “I’d love to chat if you’re open.”

She tried her luck agin a month later, telling Watson in a thread: “I participate in a unique human development & women’s movement I’d love to tell you about. As a fellow actress I can relate so… well to your vision and what you want to see in the world. I think we could work together. Let me know if you’re willing to chat.”

In March 7, 2016, right before International Women’s Day, she tweeted Watson a third time, saying: “Would love to chat with a fellow change-maker!”

.@EmWatson I participate in a unique human development & women's movement I'd love to tell you about. As a fellow actress I can relate so…

And a tweet from three years earlier suggests Mack may have also tried to recruit singer Kelly Clarkson as well.

“@kelly_clarkson I heard through the grapevine that you’re a fan of Smallville. I’m a fan of yours as well! I’d love to chat sometime,” she wrote in July, 2013.

@kelly_clarkson I heard through the grapevine that you're a fan of Smallville. I'm a fan of yours as well! I'd love to chat sometime.

— Allison Mack (@allisonmack) July 20, 2013

Neither Watson nor Clarkson responded to Mack’s tweets. Reps for the two did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An email to Mack’s publicist went unanswered.

Raniere relocated to Mexico after the publication of a New York Times report about Nxivm practices like branding women.

Mack’s involvement with Nxivm has long been a subject of speculation: She can be seen in a series of conversations posted to YouTube last year, cheerfully interviewing Raniere about his teachings.

If convicted of the crimes charged, Raniere and Mack each face mandatory minimum sentences of 15 years and up to life imprisonment.

Tom Felton and Emma Watson's Harry Potter Reunion Will Give You All the "Dramione" Feels

A post shared by Tom Felton (@t22felton) on Apr 16, 2018 at 4:33am Pdt

Looks like our invitation to the Hogwarts class reunion got lost in the mail. On Monday, Tom Felton (aka Draco Malfoy) made our Harry Potter dreams come true when posted a selfie with his former costars, Emma Watson (Hermione) and Matthew Lewis (Neville) on Instagram. "School mates," he captioned the black and white snap alongside the hashtag, "#hogwartsalumni"

While it's always great to see the cast together again, this reunion was particularly special for fans who shipped Hermione and Draco. Even though nothing ever happened with their characters, Watson did admit to having a "huge crush" on Felton during the first two movies. Aww! Glad to see Gryffindors and Slytherins coexisting peacefully in the non-wizarding world.

12 Best Movie Prom Scenes, From ‘Carrie’ to ‘Back to the Future’ (Photos)

12 Best Movie Prom Scenes, From ‘Carrie’ to ‘Back to the Future’ (Photos)
Ah, prom night. I remember it fondly: awkward hand holding, barely making eye contact, a freezing cold midnight boat ride on the lake, getting in around 4 Am and then going straight to bed. Good times. Wait, is that not how prom nights go for most teens? Typical movie proms are far more magical than what I assume is the average prom experience. We did not have Usher as a DJ at our party, nor did we have a ripping, literally ahead of-its-time guitar solo as our evening entertainment. I guess I should be thankful that my prom didn’t end with getting a bucket of pig’s blood poured over my head. This week “Blockers” imagines how three teenage girls form a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. I’m guessing their prom ends up going better than mine did. These are the best movie prom scenes:

Carrie

The prom scene in “Carrie” is a masterclass in demonic paranoia. Brian De Palma’s kaleidoscopic nightmare, with teens cackling at Carrie in silent, slow motion and the action broken up in split screen chaos, looks like hell unleashed. De Palma could’ve set this bloody climax anywhere, but to put it on prom night, such a pivotal moment in the transition to adulthood for so many teens, makes its emotional terror all the greater.

Back to the Future

What happens on prom night may feel like a matter of life and death for most teens, but it was literally true for Marty McFly, where if things didn’t go right during the “Enchantment Under the Sea” if we’re being exact, he would never be born. The Johnny B. Goode scene is a classic, a nostalgic throwback that shows Marty actually isn’t just a screw-up, one that provides an inspired nod to music history and ends on a great gag that still says a lot about Marty’s character.

Pretty in Pink

When in doubt, look to John Hughes. Just the sight of Molly Ringwald entering the room sends hearts racing in this scene. Instead of a showy dance number, Hughes found a tenderly emotional way to bring the kids back together, rub it in James Spader’s face, and even send Jon Cryer’s Duckie off on a good note. Cryer’s quick, knowing glance to the camera is hysterical.

“Napoleon Dynamite”

“I like your sleeves. They’re real big.” After about an hour of deadpan awkwardness, “Napoleon Dynamite” proved it had a heart too once it went to prom and Pedro loaned out Deb to Napoleon for a dance.

“It’s a Wonderful Life”

There’s no calling “It’s a Wonderful Life” a teen movie, but it does have a charming prom scene, where the gag isn’t that James Stewart and Donna Reed fall into a pool beneath the gymnasium floor, but that Stewart’s George Bailey has the charm and tenacity to keep splashing his arms around dancing long after they’ve been water logged.

Grease

There aren’t many teen films where the prom isn’t the emotional high point or biggest set piece in your movie, but the hand-jive is always going to be less interesting than “Summer Nights” or “Greased Lightnin.'”

Footloose

“Let’S Dance!” This glittery prom scene has become so iconic, now Kevin Bacon has to slip the DJ a $20 every time he goes to a wedding.

Mean Girls

Technically it’s the “Spring Fling” and not the prom, but Cady’s totally unnecessary speech is very sweet, and you gotta love those matching purple suits rocked by Janice and Damian.

“10 Things I Hate About You”

Bonus: “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”

I know, this is a scene from Homecoming. These are Totally different events in a high schooler’s life. But this scene from Stephen Chbosky’s “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is beautiful. I can relate to that invigorating sensation when the DJ amazingly plays some actual good music. Logan Lerman working his body into a rhythm in the hopes that Dexys Midnight Runners can provide some courage is a stirring image, and it’s even more touching when Emma Watson and Ezra Miller welcome him with open arms.

Friday One Sheet: Silent Cry Face, Downrange

One of the greatest modern posters, in my humble opinion, is Akiko Stehrenberger's striking key art for the American remake of Michael Haneke's Funny Games. In it, we see Naomi Watts, in high-contrast close-up, hair out of place, silent tears streaming down her face: the torture of one of Hollywood's famous stars. The design has been copied in the past, namely for the Alejandro Amenábar’s Regression, a forgettable horror picture with Emma Watson. And it is not just the ladies, consider last years surprise horror hit, and Daniel Kaluuya's tears in this variant poster for Get Out. Even more recently, Emily Blunt's visage sheds a silent tear in the post-apocalytic horror picture, A Quiet Place, which (coincidentally) opens today. So along comes this design, for...
