One Million Moms Is Back And This Time In A Tizzy About A Cartoon Superhero That Will 'Confuse Kids'
"SheZow" has received praise from many viewers for its portrayal of the first transgender cartoon superhero, but one conservative group isn't having any of it.

Members of One Million Moms, best known for a failed boycott of JCPenney in the wake of Ellen DeGeneres' appointment as the retail chain's spokesperson, fired off a missive against the "SheZow" producers on the group's website.

"Everyone knows children are drawn to animated shows; both boys and girls love superheroes," officials write. "This character especially will appeal to both boys and girls since the superhero represents both genders by cross dressing and being transgendered. This dude becomes the Female superhero SheZow dressed in pink and purple."

Calling the show "another attempt by the gay, lesbian and transgender community to indoctrinate our children into accepting their lifestyles," Omm officials continue: "It won't be long before little boys are saying, 'I want to be a girl,

'SheZow' creator talks 'transsexual' criticism, a 'coming out' episode and more

Coming to The Hub starting on Saturday, June 1 is new cartoon "SheZow," the story of 12-year-old Guy Hamdon who puts on his late aunt's magic ring and assumes the identity of SheZow, a crime-fighting superhero ... who is also a girl.

Creator Obie Scott Wade tells Zap2it that the inspiration for this new superhero goes back to his Saturday morning cartoon routine as a kid.

"I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons and loving superheroes in general," says Wade. "I just thought it would be a funny twist on a classic mythology ... When I was a kid I watched a show on Saturday mornings called 'Shazam!' ... it was Shazam and Isis and I just thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if he accidentally said 'She-zam,' would he get a different costume or become a different hero?"

"It's just taking something classic and turning it

The Hub's gender-swapping cartoon "SheZow" premieres this weekend

My six-year-old nephew's favorite things are superheroes, the color pink, and "dressing fancy," so when I heard about The Hub's new hero cartoon, SheZow, my interest was fully piqued. At first, I read that SheZow is a transgender pre-teen. And then I read that SheZow is a boy who chooses to dress as a girl to fight crime. Now that I've seen the first episode, I realize neither of those things are really true. SheZow is the story of a guy (named Guy) who puts on his dead aunt's glowing pink ring and transforms into a feminine superhero named SheZow. He doesn't change genders when he transforms; he changes gender presentations. And while that may sound like some revolutionary gender-bending in the world of superheroes and animation, it's really not.

Bending gender is about eschewing traditional gender roles. It's about existing in the space between society's ideas of masculinity and femininity.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj both made it official, announcing that they would not be returning to American Idol as a judge.

Deadline reports that FX is developing a comedy starring Tracy Morgan. Death Pact has Morgan playing a slacker-turned-war-hero-slash-motivational-speaker who returns to his hometown and takes three down-on-their-luck friends.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan says that he’s working on a Breaking Bad spin-off focusing on scene-stealer Saul Goodman. “So we just have to figure out exactly what kind of story we’re telling. Is it a story about his creation of his own character? Because Saul Goodman, as he explains in his first episode, is not his real name,

She-zow Creator Responds To Backlash

We posted an article on The Hub's new animated series SheZow a couple of days ago which resulted in almost 10 pages of comments. Many supported the idea of a show that might raise awareness of transgerderism in younger kids (although to correct something from our original article, the character only changes cloths and Not his body, so to say he's transgender isn't actually accurate) but just as many were appalled. The show's creator Obie Scott Wade was shocked at the response, and maintains that the show is simply about trying to put across that femininity does not equal weakness, and he had no political agenda in coming up with the scenario. "Just based on what they wrote, they're reading a lot into the show that's not there. I didn't set out to make a show about any sort of political agenda, I just wanted to make a comedy. I wanted

Pippa Middleton's butt immortalised on dirty car windscreen - News
London, Dec 15: Pippa Middleton's famous bum has been immortalised on a filthy car.

Artist Scott Wade used a mix of limestone dust, gravel and clay on the car windscreen to recreate the derriere, which caused a global stir at the Royal Wedding in April, the Mirror reported.
