The child actor was cast as Daniel Stone in the classic film The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941). While filming, however, he was injured along with actor Thomas Mitchell when Mitchell lost control of a horse-drawn carriage they were riding in and it crashed. Both were thrown from the carriage.
