Marco Vermaas is an award winning sound designer and re-recording mixer. He lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After getting his bachelor degree in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 1987, he started working on films. He worked as DOP, Editor, Animator and Visual Effects artist, until he discovered sound. He founded Sound Design Studio Vermaas in 1995 in the center of Amsterdam. With his talented crew he has worked on the sound of numerous films and television series. As of January 2025 Studio Vermaas joined forces with Amsterdam based studio Posta. Together they form the biggest audio post production facility in the Netherlands: Posta Vermaas
