Steven's maternal grandmother had English and distant Welsh ancestry; also, on the show Who Do You Think You Are? (2010), Steven's daughter Liv Tyler discovered that Steven's great-great-great-grandfather, Robert J. Elliott, was of half or part African-American ancestry. He drives a black Venom GT Spyder sports car that he ordered customized in 2013 ($1.2 million). The car eventually became the fastest open-top sports car after it was officially clocked at a top speed of 265.6 mph in March 2016.
When Aerosmith released its self-titled debut album, the producer told him to sing differently and it being their first record he didn't know any different. But Wikipedia says: "Steven Tyler says that this was the only song on the band's first album where he used his "real" voice. He was insecure about how his voice sounded on tape, so for the other songs, he tried to sing a bit lower and sound more like soul artists, such as James Brown." Which by the end of that song it starts to show how he would sing later on.
In 1984, Tyler heard one of Aerosmith's older songs on the radio and didn't recognize it due to a poor memory from years of drug use. He told fellow Aerosmith player Joe Perry that they should perform a cover version for that song, which Perry replied, "It's us, fuckhead.".

Personal Quotes (5)

(On why he became sober) "Liv is possibly the biggest reason for me changing the way I lived. She is a dream daughter. When she was very young I wasn't sure whether I was the father but, by the time she was eight, I knew for sure. I saw my features in hers and I cried. I started seeing her a lot and I think her mother had alluded to the fact I was her dad. I just said to her, 'Liv, there's something I want to tell you. I'm your Daddy.' It was one of the most emotional moments of my life and I just stood there crying like a baby while she shouted, 'I knew it, I knew it.' I love her more than anything and have a great relationship with her. We can talk about anything."
The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those that got there first.
I don't think anything is forever, but when my kids tell me they love me, that's forever.
[on why Aerosmith called it the 'Global Warming Tour'] When we write a song and people come to see the band perform it, what is it? What is it that people come to? At the end of the day, it's that they warm their asses around our tribal fire.
[on his fondness for animals] I guess there's that certain amount of love that could be missing for a rock star after he comes home from raping and pillaging and dragging his balls across 100 miles of broken glass. Dogs have a lot of love.
