Reg Thomason in Yes Minister (1980)
Extremely prolific and ubiquitous British bit player Reginald George Thomason was born on November 29, 1918 in West Surrey, Surrey, London, England. Thomason first began appearing in movies in often uncredited small roles in the late 1940's following military service during World War II. Blessed with a distinguished face and manner as well as usually sporting a neatly trimmed mustache, Reg was frequently cast as gentleman in pubs, clubs, or restaurants, government officials, or military officers (he can be glimpsed as a Rebel Alliance communications officer during the final stages of the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)). Moreover, Thomason was married to his wife Ruby Rosemary Cannings from 1940 to 2002. Reg continued to act in both films and TV shows alike up until the year 2000. Thomason died on August 30, 2003 in London, England.
