David A. Taylor's credits include documentaries for PBS, Smithsonian Channel and National Geographic. He was lead writer of the feature documentary, Soul of A People: Writing America's Story, nominated for a 2010 Writer's Guild Award, about the WPA writers of the 1930s, and authored the source book, also titled Soul of a People (Wiley).
He has written true crime, travel series and documentary specials, as well as scripted limited series podcasts in history and drama.
His nonfiction titles in true crime and espionage include Ginseng, the Divine Root (Algonquin) and Cork Wars: Intrigue and Industry in WW2 (Johns Hopkins). He has also adapted screenplays from stories in his prize-winning fiction collection Success: Stories. His nonfiction appears in The Washington Post, Smithsonian, Undark, Discover, Inverse, and Oxford American. He teaches writing at Johns Hopkins University and lives in Washington, DC.
