Maurice Raymond Tauzin was born in Los Angeles, as the younger of two children born to French immigrants. His father, Prosper René Tauzin, was an electrician working for film studios, particularly Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox.
Tauzin's acting debut was as Pierre in the film "The Pied Piper (1942)", alongside Roddy McDowall. He spent the rest of the 1940s appearing in seven more films before leaving the business altogether in 1947.
Taking an interest in medicine, Tauzin graduated from USC Medical School in 1956, and worked as a gastroenterologist for the Veterans Health Administration at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. After retiring in 2002, Tauzin died at his home in Beverly Hills, California on January 10, 2008, at the age of 76.
