Michael Straka was born in Newark, New Jersey. His mother is from Chile
and his father is Hungarian from Newark, New Jersey. He began acting as
a college student at Rutgers University and moved to New York City to
study The Method with Bobby Lewis ("Advice To The Players") and Tony
Greco of The Actor's Studio (also in Los Angeles), Meisner Technique
with Richard Poole, classics and monologues with Donald Buka and
William Woodman and commercials with Dovetail.
Mike began his on-camera career at FOX News Channel, serving as a features and sports anchor in the summer of 1998. His assignments included live red carpet coverage of The Oscars, Golden Globes and Grammy's, 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, CMA's, The Ultimate Fighting Championships, Super Bowls, Country Music Awards, movie premieres and more. Straka also contributed to FNC's 9/11 coverage.
Prior to joining FOX, Mike worked the assignment desk at CBS News, where he began his broadcast career as a page, ushering audiences for Geraldo and Joan Rivers, and giving tours at the CBS Broadcast Center.
Mike has starred in several national television commercials, was the co-star of the Off-Broadway hit "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" and played various roles in TV and film, including the blockbuster "Analyze This."
Mike's first book "Grrr! Celebrities and Other Reasons We're All In Trouble" was published by St. Martins Press in 2007 and inspired "The Grrr! Block," a weekly segment on "FOX and Friends."
Mike Straka was co-host on "Spike's MMA Uncensored Live," from the iconic MTV Studios in New York City's Times Square, and host of "The MMA Experience" on Fight Now TV, and SiriusXM's "TapouT Radio."
Straka was the host of "Fighting Words with Mike Straka" on HDNet and "FOX Fight Game" on FOXNews.com, and served as the UFC correspondent on "Inside MMA."
