‘Accident Man’ DVD Review

Stars: Scott Adkins, Ray Stevenson, Michael Jai White, Ray Park, Ashley Greene, David Paymer, Nick Moran, Tim Man, Ross O’Hennessy | Written by Scott Adkins, Stu Small | Directed by Jesse V. Johnson

Not all comic-book movies have to be about superheroes… or heroes at all for that matter. Case in point: Accident Man. Originally debuting in a series of comic strips in the 90s UK comic Toxic!, Accident Man was created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner – two legends of the UK comics scene who, beside this character, penned stories or Judge Dredd and ABC Warriors. In fact Mills is one of creators of 2000Ad, a British institution that has already seen success outside of the comics realm, with numerous video games based on characters within its pages and not one but two Judge Dredd movies!

For those not familiar with the Mills and Skinner creation, Mike Fallon is a hitman,

Jeff Goldblum wants to see The Grandmaster and The Collector interacting

After making his debut in Thor: Ragnarok, it seems that Jeff Goldblum is keen to make a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has a particular eye on his character The Grandmaster meeting up with his brother and fellow Elder of the Universe The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro.

“I overlapped with one day of Cate Blanchett’s shooting and she’s so spectacular as Hela,” Goldblum told The Toronto Sun when asked if there’s any particular Marvel characters he’d like to meet up with. “I keep wanting to have scenes with her. We worked together on a Wes Anderson movie awhile ago — The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou — and I sure would love to do anything with her. But, in the comic books, the character of the Grandmaster is the brother of The Collector, played by Benicio del Toro, who I adore. So I would enjoy doing something with him.

Thor: Ragnarok Honest Trailer Champions Marvel's Weird Side

With Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok arriving on Blu-ray and DVD today, it's the perfect time to reflect on this superhero blockbuster in a satirical way, with the new Honest Trailer for the third Thor movie. Typically, Honest Trailers tear bad movies to shreds, but they can be just as entertaining by skewering the movies that are universally beloved, like Thor: Ragnarok, which was both a critical (92% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes) and commercial ($314.2 million domestic, $853.8 million worldwide) success. If you still haven't seen Thor: Ragnarok, there will be Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.

The Honest Trailer begins with narrator Jon Bailey (a.k.a. Epic Voice Guy) taking Marvel to task about its elaborate, and lengthy, new Marvel Studios logo that precedes each McU movie. The narrator goes on to state that Thor: Ragnarok represents a bold new direction that Marvel undertook for the Thor films: "not making them suck.

Frightfest Glasgow: ‘Cold Skin’ Review: Dir. Xavier Gens (2018)

Cold Skin Review: After The Shape of Water, and with Aquaman out later in the year, it would seem that 2018 is the year of the amphibious people, Cold Skin being the latest entry.

Cold Skin review by Kat Hughes.

Cold Skin Review

Director Xavier Gen caught the attention of this writer back in 2011 with his bold apocalypse thriller, The Divide. Set within the confines of an apartment building, and starring Milo Ventlimiglia and Michael Biehn, The Divide was a dark study into the treacherousness of man and the need for self-preservation no matter the costs. Both themes are explored again, in a different context, in his latest film – Cold Skin.

Set at the turn of the 20th Century, 1914, the film joins a nameless man (David Oakes) as he arrives on a desolate island to begin his stint as the Weather Official. Upon arrival he finds his predecessor is dead and
