Emmy Award Winning Cinematographer, Adam Starr's work has been
showcased on major broadcast and cable networks, exclusive film
festivals and theatrically worldwide. Even the high seas have been
"graced" by adam's creative vision - playing aboard Royal Caribbean
Cruise Ships. His concentration is on strong original cinematic
imagery. As such, much of his work is executed through the format of
music videos; he has created music videos for Country, Hip-Hop, Gothic,
and Pop artists including work for the group Sister Sledge (We are
Family). Adam also work heavily in visual effects, animation and 3D for
web, TV and cinema alike.
In 2009 Adam's cinematography work was displayed at the Museam of Fine Arts Boston in an animation festival. He also won an Emmy award for a television campaign for the MFA Boston titled, "The Look" and has also been nominated for two for commercials with FOX Sports. In 2007 his work was awarded "Best Documentary" in a 2007 HBO Film Competition for "Lest We Forget-The Black Holocaust" a film which he directed, photographed and edited. His most recent feature film credit was Director of Photography for the film "27 Down".
Adam's personal creative work is often characterized by its extreme post-modern slant (a characteristic that Adam likes to deny) and its fascination with self-destructive vices.
Aside from motion picture arts, Adam enjoys participating in nearly every other visually-artistic field. He works as an illustrator and graphic designer of CD and DVD art, books, posters and magazines and has won several awards for his graphical arts. Adam also is involved in the artistic design, building, painting and lighting of haunted houses.
During time spent away from the cameras, lights and computers, Adam labors for environmental and social-welfare causes. He also studies history, the sciences, permaculture and sustainable building techniques while living in his self-built "eco-house".
