Joey Soloway was born on September 26, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. They are a producer and writer, known for Transparent (2014), Six Feet Under (2001) and United States of Tara (2009). They were previously married to Bruce Gilbert, and for writing and directing the feature Afternoon Delight (2013) which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. They have also written two non-fiction books: Tiny Ladies in Shiny Pants: Based on a True Story (2005) and She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy (2018).
