Mala Sinha was born on November 11, 1936 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India as Alda Sinha. She is known for her work on Pyaasa (1957), Jahan Ara (1964) and Geet (1970).

Mother of Pratibha Sinha
Unlike her contemporary Waheedha who debuted around same time in mid-50's and and did not have much box-office success after 1966 as lead heroine, Mala Sinha had box-office hits as lead heroine from 1957-1974.
Mala Sinha 1st from 1958-65 with Vyjanthimala and 2nd with Vyjanthi from 1966-67 and then 2nd with Sharmila from 1968-1971 and 3rd with Sadhana and Nanda in 1972-73.
Proposed marriage to Sanjay Khan on the sets of " Dillagi".
Used the screen name "Baby Lata" as a child then "Nazma" in Bengali films.
She is a only child with no siblings.
Starred in the shelved film Ace Movie Makers KISMAT KA DHANI (1990) Starring Mala Sinha, Meghna,Sudhir Pandey, produced by Kamal Choudhury, Director M.N. Yasin.
