He was finally arrested in 1995, confessed, and he is serving four life sentences as an inmate at the Oregon State Penitentiary. The film has gone into production, as evidenced by some snapshots shown below of two of its costars filming a scene in New York City last week.

Two more of Hoover’s books, Regretting You, and Reminders of Him have been picked up for film adaptations as well, each growing its cast ahead of production.

It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni was just the beginning of the author’s extension into film and television. Maika Monroe, best known for critically lauded portrayals in horror and thrillers, will take a stab at romance. Monroe is set to lead Universal Pictures of Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, Reminders of Him. This marks a new venture for Monroe, who has solidified her Scream Queen status with memorable performances in films like 2014's The Guest and It Follows, as well as more recent hits like Watcher and last year's Longlegs, which became the highest-grossing independent film of the year.

The screen adaptation of Reminders of Him, slated for a Valentine's Day weekend 2026 release, will be directed by Vanessa Caswill, who helmed Netflix's Love at First Sight. Scott Eastwood has been added to the cast of Paramount Pictures’ feature adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel Regretting You.

Hitting theaters Oct. 24, Regretting You stars Eastwood alongside previously announced castmembers Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames and Willa Fitzgerald. Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) helms the film from a script he wrote that is based on a previous draft by Susan McMartin (After).

Regretting You centers on the aftermath of a tragic car accident that claims the lives of two family members and leads to an exploration of past secrets and regrets.

The project is based on Hoover’s best-selling 2019 novel and hails from Constantin Film, with the producers including Robert Kulzer, Brunson Green, Anna Todd and Flavia Viotti. Serving as executive producers are Hoover, Williams, Franco and Grace.

Eastwood’s previous features include I Want You Back, 1992, Fast X, Wrath of Man and Pacific Rim: Uprising.

XYZ Films has hired Chloë Grace Moretz to star in serial killer thriller The Edge Of Normal marking the English-language debut of Piggy director Carolta Pereda, Screen has confirmed.

Production is scheduled to begin in spring on the adaptation of Carla Norton’s novel of the same name. Pic was written by Matt Venne (Dexter: Resurrection) with revisions by Lori Evans Taylor (Final Destination: Bloodlines), based on Carla Norton’s novel of the same name from St. Martin’s Press.

Dennis Quaid is set to mark a haunting role in his filmography: Playing a serial killer. Starring alongside Annaleigh Ashford, upcoming Paramount+ series “Happy Face” follows real-life murderer Keith Jesperson, also known as the Happy Face Killer. Ashford stars as Jesperson’s daughter Melissa Reed Aka Melissa G. Moore, who is forced to confront the carnage caused by her father during the trial of another alleged killer.

“Keith Jesperson is a serial killer,” Quaid told IndieWire of his character at Paramount+’s The Lodge in SXSW. “He killed eight women in five years. He was also a father to Annaleigh’s character, Melissa, and she had a very close relationship. Then she found out at the age of 15, when he was caught, that he was a serial killer. How do you reconcile having that loving dad, with this monster, what he did? That’s basically what the show ‘Happy Face’ is about.

Annaleigh Ashford is the daughter of the notorious Happy Face serial killer out to help save an innocent man facing death for a crime her father committed in the trailer for the Paramount+ dramatic thriller Happy Face.

Ashford plays Melissa Reed, who must get her father, convicted killer Keith Jerperson, and played by Dennis Quaid, to help save an innocent man before he goes to his death for a crime he committed. “If I don’t deal with him, there is a family who lost a daughter, who will never get answers,” Reed says at one point in the trailer for the drama inspired by a true-life story.

After decades of no contact, Jerperson forced his way back into his daughter’s life, and Reed, trying to solve the crime her imprisoned father committed, faces a reckoning of her own identity and the impact the Happy Face killer had on his victims’ families.

Despite the ongoing legal drama surrounding It Ends With Us, the film was a very successful adaptation. With no chance of a sequel in the future, author Colleen Hoover is focusing on other adaptations.

In a new post on her Facebook group, Colleen Hoover's CoHorts, the author shared light on the upcoming adaptations. She has three films in development, including Verity, Reminders of Him, and Regretting You. The post comes just one day after Deadline confirmed the full cast of the upcoming Verity adaptation.

Now, Deadline reports that five more actors have signed on to be in the film: Ismael Cruz Cordóva (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, pictured above), Brady Wagner (Broadway’s Merrily We Roll Along), Irina Dvorovenko (And Just Like That…), K.K. Moggie (The Good Wife), and Michael Abbott Jr. (The Drama). Details on the characters these new additions will be playing have not been revealed.

Titled “The Band,” the official logline of the series states that it “offers an inside look at the music industry centered on Oscar (Stiller), a pop impresario and talent mogul beset by scandal who is tasked with forming a new act in order to save his career – and perhaps his soul.”

The show hails from Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, who also serve as executive producers and showrunners. Exclusive: Prime Video has opted not to renew The Pradeeps Of Pittsburgh for a second season. The news comes more than three months after the eight-episode first season of the immigrant comedy, starring Naveen Andrews, Sindhu Vee, and Megan Hilty, was released on Amazon Freevee.

It is not entirely surprising because The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, which drew comparisons to ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, did not make much noise among viewers despite largely favorably reviews (75% on Rotten Tomatoes)

The streamer has set a March 20 premiere date and released a teaser for the drama, which stars Annaleigh Ashford (B Positive, Masters of Sex) as Melissa, a woman whose father (Dennis Quaid) is a notorious serial killer known as Happy Face. The show, executive produced by Robert and Michelle King (Evil, Elsbeth), is based on a true story.

Her crew during the film's strange yet crucial special operation features a collection of fascinating characters, ranging from Omari Hardwick's Section 31 liaison Alok Sahar to Sam Richardson's chameloid character Quasi. Since the entire team is decidedly of the black ops variety, they're effectively expendable. The group's borderline redshirt nature is underlined fairly early in the movie when the seductive Deltan team member Melle attempts to subdue a target -- and is promptly shot to death.

Though Melle's demise is far from the only one in the film, it's definitely the earliest. Despite this, she still manages to show why she's a valuable member of the team, which allows actor Humberly González to make the most of the screen time she's given. Since...
