Dystopian Agricultural Sci-Fi Podcast Broken Road Wraps Ten-Episode Season
(Los Angeles, CA) The dystopian science-fiction audio drama Broken Road, created by Fear The Walking Dead writer Jacob Pinion and Hero Mode producer E.J. Kavounas, has published its entire ten-episode first season, following a veteran struggling with obsolete military implants who teams up with a defiant farmer and her daughter against a corrupt, morally unhinged lawman. Crackle Plus To Stream Casper Van Dien Sci-Fi Action Series ‘Salvage Marines’
Exclusive: Screen Media has acquired North American TV rights to Salvage Marines, a sci-fi action series starring Starship Troopers alum Casper Van Dien that will stream on Crackle Plus next month.

The dystopian futuristic series follows Samuel (Van Dien), who works as a factory laborer on planet Baen 6. When Samuel learns that his wife is pregnant, he does the only thing he can to ensure his child will avoid the same societal debt he has – enlist in the planet’s military ranks as a salvage marine. Armand Assante also stars in the series alongside Peter Shinkoda.

After impressing audiences with his 2014 debut, the short film “Lahaina Noon,” Native Hawaiian filmmaker Christopher Kahunahana is returning to the big screen with his feature debut, “Waikiki.” The film, starring Danielle Zalopany and Peter Shinkoda, will hit the festival circuit this season and is billed as an “unflinching glimpse into the gritty realities of life in paradise.”

The Sundance Lab alum will also be making history with this debut, as he’s believed to be the first Native Hawaiian filmmaker to both write and direct a feature. Peter Shinkoda, who played crime boss Nobu Yoshioka in nine episodes of Marvel’s Netflix superhero series “Daredevil,” revealed during Comic-Con@Home (via The Wrap) that former Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb deliberately cut out stories centered on Asian characters from the series. Loeb allegedly told the “Daredevil” writers room that “nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people” in film and television projects. “Daredevil” actor Peter Shinkoda on Sunday accused former Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb of making anti-Asian comments in the writer’s room of the Netflix series.

During a panel put on by #SaveDaredevilCon, Shinkoda — who played crime boss Nobu Yoshioka in nine episodes — revealed that Loeb had instructed writers to scrap plans for a storyline that would delve deeper into Nobu’s relationship with Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho).

“Jeph Loeb told the writers room not to write for Nobu and Gao — and this was reiterated many times by many of the writers and showrunners — that [he said] ‘Nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people. There were three previous Marvel movies, a trilogy called Blade that was made where Wesley Snipes killed 200 Asians each movie. Speaking on a livestream organized by the #SaveDaredevil campaign, actor Peter Shinkoda, who played Nobu, leader of The Hand, revealed that Jeph Loeb, then-head of Marvel TV, had purposefully cut storylines for his character while claiming “nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people.”

The Man in the High Castle has some new company. Deadline reports Bzhaun Rhoden, Peter Shinkoda, and Louis Ferreira have joined season four of the Amazon TV show.

Based on the book by Philip K. Dick, the alt-history drama is set in a world where the Axis Powers won World War II. The cast includes Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, and Rufus Sewell.

‘The Man In The High Castle’: Bzhaun Rhoden, Louis Ferreira & Peter Shinkoda To Recur In Season 4
Bzhaun Rhoden (Van Helsing), Louis Ferreira (Bad Blood) and Peter Shinkoda (Daredevil) are set for recurring roles on the upcoming fourth season of Amazon’s Emmy-winning drama series The Man in the High Castle.

Developed by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files) based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning 1962 alternate history novel, The Man in the High Castle explores what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II.

Rhoden will play Benjy, a member of the Black Communist Rebellion. Though he’s young, he’s seen a lot, and he doesn’t look out of place in the Revolution. You can tell he’s a survivor.

Ferreira is Brad Bellows, the leader of the D.C. Resistance cell. Years of survival in the resistance means he doesn’t trust easily, and he is suspicious of Juliana Crain.

Shinkoda portrays Kazu Suzuki, the very distinguished Royal Secretary to the Crown Princess.

Watch: Space Travel Short Film 'Hyperlight' by Nguyen-Anh Nguyen

"If we landed with them, that means we should've ejected." You have to see this impressive sci-fi short film titled Hyperlight, about two astronauts on a cool space ship traveling far to another place in the galaxy in another star system. Set at a time when humans have just achieved faster-than-light travel, this short has an ambitious concept but director Nguyen-Anh Nguyen pulls it off so amazingly well, with some slick VFX work and captivating sci-fi story. Hyperlight stars Jeananne Goossen, Peter Shinkoda, and Caroline Dhavernas. There's a few big twists in this and lots to process, but it's another must watch sci-fi short film.
