Get Out and Girls star Allison Williams to headline horror The Perfection

One of the best things about Jordan Peele’s film of the year contender, Get Out, was how Allison Williams (HBO’s Girls) lulled both Daniel Kaluuya and the audience into a false sense of security, before pulling the old switcheroo. She was integral to that film working.

The good news is that according to Deadline, Williams will stay within the genre for Richard Shephard’s The Perfection, which is described as a horror-thriller about the rivalries and obsessions of two prodigious cellists. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2018 in Shanghai and Vancouver.

The story was scripted by Shepard, who directed Williams in numerous episodes of Girls, along with co-writers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder. The Perfection will be produced by Miramax CEO Bill Block, Richard Shepard and Stacey Reiss.

How ‘Girls’ Led Director Richard Shepard to the ‘Tokyo Project’ (Exclusive)

How ‘Girls’ Led Director Richard Shepard to the ‘Tokyo Project’ (Exclusive)
Set in Japan’s capital, Tokyo Project tells the story of a mysterious romance between two strangers (played by Elisabeth Moss and Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they explore the hidden treasures of the city. Written and directed by longtime Girls collaborator Richard Shepard, who helmed several of the HBO series’ standout episodes, the new short film is his way of satisfying an itch for a “pure creative experience.”

In fact, it was his time on Girls that led to Tokyo Project. While on the set of the Tokyo-based season five episode (“Japan”) directed by Jesse Peretz and written by girlfriend and executive producer Jenni Konner, Shepard was inspired by a mix of love for the city and envy about not being involved in the production.

“I was watching them shoot and wishing I was making something cinematic,” he tells Et. “I was motivated by some jealousy that I wasn’t directing the episode.” Responsible for two episodes

The 25 Sexiest TV Scenes on Premium Cable of the Last 25 Years

The 25 Sexiest TV Scenes on Premium Cable of the Last 25 Years
In the days before premium cable, television was a squeaky-clean place for the most part. The traditional networks rarely dared to push boundaries when it came to graphic sexual content for fear of pissing off advertisers. (And when they did, as with ABC’s “NYPD Blue,” affiliates and advertisers did indeed balk on cue.)

But then came HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and a slew of other networks, which asked for a little extra subscriber cash, but offered in exchange unfiltered violence, language, and sex. Without that creative freedom, it’s doubtful that television as a storytelling art form would have evolved in the same way, especially when it comes to sex — one of the most primal aspects of humanity that the broadcast networks kept behind closed doors for far too long.

Because different things are sexy to different people, this list is unranked — streaming platforms and ad-supported cable networks will be saved for future lists.

Elisabeth Moss in First Trailer for HBO's New Short Film 'Tokyo Project'

"You ever spend the night with a stranger?" HBO has unveiled a trailer for a short film they're debuting this October. Tokyo Project is a 30-minute short from director Richard Shepard (Dom Hemingway, The Hunting Party, The Matador), produced by Lena Dunham. Ebon Moss-Bachrach stars as Sebastian, a man on a business trip to Tokyo. He keeps running into a mysterious woman named Claire, as played by Elisabeth Moss. They eventually hook up, but also end up dealing with their own sordid pasts. Co-starring Shu Kakizawa. This obviously reminds me of Lost in Translation, but hopefully it's a bit different. I am always up for anything with Elisabeth Moss, because she is so talented, and this looks like it could be good. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Richard Shepard's short film Tokyo Project, from YouTube: On a business trip to Tokyo, Japan, Sebastian explores the city with
