Jeff Sheaffer
- Actor
Jeff Scheaffer played baseball for close to 15 years. He was drafted by
Baltimore in the 12th round of the 1981 amateur draft. He got his
started in Baltimore's minor league system,as a Second Baseman. He only
advanced as far as triple a with Baltimore. He never made the major
leagues until 1989, when he played for the Chicago White Sox. The next
year, he found himself playing for the Seattle Mariners. Scheaffer's
Odyssey saw his rights drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers from
Baltimore in 1986. Ironically, he only played briefly in the farm
system of the Cleveland Indians. The Dodgers sold his contract to the
Angels later that year. Sheaffer never saw the light of day with the
Angels, being released shortly before spring training. AFter his brief
stint in Seattle, he returned to Baltimore, only to be released yet
again. Oakland signed the utility infielder, and he appeared in a mere
8 games in 1994. Scheaffer quietly retired from baseball after being
released by Oakland at the end of the 1994 season.
