Ben Selkow is Emmy-nominated documentary film and prestige non-fiction television director, executive producer, showrunner, and creative consultant, whose work has been exhibited on Netflix, HBO, Nat Geo, CNN, Sundance TV, Discovery, Participant Media, PBS/America ReFramed, Esquire Network, and at film festivals such as SXSW, Tribeca, Hot Docs and DOC NYC. Recently, he served as co-executive producer of a forthcoming HBO docu-series, HBO and Adam McKay's "Q: Into the Storm", and as executive producer and director on S1 of Nat Geo's docu-series "Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller." Previously, he was the executive producer and a director on Netflix's 8-part hip hop docu-series entitled "Rapture" which featured films on Nas, 2 Chainz, T.I., Logic, Rapsody, G-Eazy, A Boogie wit a Hoodie, and super-producer Just Blaze. Ben has directed and produced international docu-series such as "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown", "Believer with Reza Aslan", and "The Getaway" with Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey, Nat Faxon/Jim Rash, and Zachary Levi. Ben has collaborated with Emmy Award-winning executive producers and creators Adam McKay, Lena Waithe, Chris Collins & Lydia Tenaglia, Sacha Jenkins, Marc Levin, Jeff Grogan, and Danny Forster. His documentary film work covers a wide variety of global topics from social justice issues such as mental health disorders, women's maternal health to the connection between environmental destruction and mass conflict. Ben has produced and directed all over the world including: Vietnam, Japan, Morocco, Zambia, Haiti, India, Israel, Dominican Republic, Korea, France, Czech Republic, Chile, Mexico, and across the United States.
