Ben Selkow, p.g.a., is a Primetime and News & Docs Emmy-nominated documentary film and non-fiction television director, executive producer, showrunner, and creative consultant, whose work has been exhibited on Netflix, HBO, Nat Geo, CNN, Sundance TV, Discovery, Participant Media, PBS/America ReFramed, Esquire Network, and at film festivals such as SXSW, Tribeca, Hot Docs, San Francisco, Zurich, and DOC NYC. Recently, he produced "Being Mary Tyler Moore" for HBO which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary Special. With filmmaker James Adolphus, they have co-founded Good Trouble Studios, a a boutique production company. Previously, he served as co-executive producer of the HBO and Adamy McKay-produced docu-series "Q: Into the Storm" and "The Invisible Pilot", and as executive producer and director on S1 of the News & Docs Emmy-nominated Nat Geo docu-series, "Trafficked with Mariana van Zeller." Previously, he was the executive producer and a director on Netflix's 8-part hip hop docu-series entitled "Rapture" which featured films on Nas, 2 Chainz, T.I., Logic, Rapsody, G-Eazy, A Boogie wit a Hoodie, and super-producer Just Blaze. Ben has directed and produced international docu-series such as "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown", "Believer with Reza Aslan", and "The Getaway" with Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey, Nat Faxon/Jim Rash, and Zachary Levi. His documentary film work covers a wide variety of global topics from social justice issues such as mental health disorders, women's maternal health to the connection between environmental destruction and mass conflict. Ben has produced and directed all over the world including: Vietnam, Japan, Morocco, Zambia, Haiti, India, Israel, the Dominican Republic, Korea, France, the Czech Republic, Chile, Mexico, and across the United States.
